I was under the impression that skies were meant to emit light. How come mine do not do this?

it's a property within the shader itself, open up the skies.shaders, it's explained therein.

check richdiesal's dynamic lighting tutorial. It says the line you need to look for in the shader's script.
Which sky is it? I can look it up for you if you want.
