i love lucasarts, their first person shooters are the best in the world, their flight simulators leave you on edge the whole way through... but their strategy games luck something.... ah yes FUN. i liked the whole idea of rebellion, the strategy on a grand level, but they had the WORST possible engine for ship battles, the ground battles were non-existent and the maps were too small. galactic battlegrounds seemed promising at first... but died quickly, even with speed set to full the game was unbearably slowpaced. so i decided that what they really need, more then anything. is too make a decent capital ship strategy game, like rebellion but maybe focus a little less on resource management and diplomacy, and a little more on making the battles fun to command. if you agree or disagree or even just want to tell me how stupid i am (i hope not) leave your thoughts below

You left out force commander. Oh wait.....Oh well. SWGB is not really that bad. Its just like playing AoK. The AoE/AoK/SWGB RTS in my opinion are much harder than the C&C or WC ones. They take a little more stategy, there are more ways to win, and a little more time.
One of the hardest, most strategic RTS in my opinon would be Sudden Strike.

I once had a discussion with a friend about a new game idea called Star Wars: Capital Ship combat. You command Star Destroyers and other space-faring vessels.
Yeah, I don't see what's the big deal with Galactic Battlegrounds. I got it, but I didn't like it nearly as much as StarCraft. However, it does seem to get a lot of media and fan attention.
Haven't played Force Commander, but I heard it sucks big ballz.

Yeah, Force Commander was a big disappointment. I have it. It was cool that you can move the camera anywhere, and zoom to any level. It was also nice to see the size comparison between troops and vehicles like the AT-AT. But other than that.....it was not work it.

ah yes force commander, my apologies. how to describe it..... a waste of 20 bucks. its a good idea and i would like to command large scale ground invasions of rebel territories but that game .... wasnt.... fun. i like the idea of captaning a ship, it could be anything from a corvette to a ssd. itd be fun to do online, you get giant clan wars going, the leaders make their newbie apprentices crash into the enemy command ships bridges.... ahh that would be fun, and i think it would be cool if blizzard teamed up with lucasarts.

Are you guys thinkin' like a Bridge Commander for Star Wars-type thing?
what would be REALLY cool is a Online flight sim .... where u can take fighters ..... and capital ships (perhaps multiple posts within a big ship (gunner etc.) but not all (otherwise ud have lots of people per SSD and u could team up and have a commander (doesnt mean u have to obey him/her tho)
