Well, include a DIRECT link to the map file and you will get more response. Many of us dont want to wade through filed looking for the one the user wants us to try. :) Lazy but true.

Hey man ... liked the level.
Tell me something. HOW did you get objectives on the data pad??????
07-04-2002, 07:37 AM
*hopshops* How did you make the Weequay have the lightsaber??
07-04-2002, 07:47 AM
/me bets it was scripting
set ( "SET_WEAPON", "WP_SABER" );
set ( /*@SET_TYPES*/ "SET_SABERACTIVE", "ON" );

excellent level, really fun though the psycho merry-go-round thingo made me feel like i was gonna barf
kewl scripting too, i didnt know how to set force powers for npc's till i checked out those ones

Id still like to know how you got objectives onto the datapad.

You can set objectives by creating scripts. Use the JK2 Editing Tools ver 2.0 to do the job. I'm glad you all enjoyed it.
Just post any questions about the map here and I will try and help you out.
Have fun and may the force be with you

Question nasty... did you actually create a new objectives.sp or just modify the existing 58 point one?
07-05-2002, 09:31 AM
Ok, scripts. I figured that out for myself. The question is, we have NO EXAMPLES of how it is done. If you could send me a script that sets objectives, I would be indebted to you. Ive read every blasted script I could find and used grep in them extensively and no dice. Not even XCom knew how to do it.

Evidently, you didn't figure out much. :p Open SPscripts.zip (came with second tool release) and look at bespin_platform/player_setup.txt
Copy the objectives.sp file from assets0 into your SP mod's strip/ directory
Edit the objectives how you want them and queue the ones you modified in scripting...
As of yet, there is no way (that I know of) to create your own objectives.sp, but I'm sure that will change at some point in the future.

I know all that man. I was hoping he found a way to create them anew.
07-06-2002, 12:21 AM
Well you said they gave us no examples of scripts setting objectives... when in fact they gave us every script they used. :p
07-06-2002, 01:13 AM
Sorry guys. I didn't work out how to create my own one, but using an old one does the job (objectives that is)

I was hoping to find a thread on this level :D.
duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuudde, this level is too hard!! :eek: :eek: It makes Jedi Knight II single player itself look easy. Rockettroopers and reborn at the same time?! Fighting a reborn while 10 guys are shooting at you?? I could go on. You should've called this one house of madness instead!! The level looks nice, eventhough it's ridiculously super impossibly hard; the sky needs to be fixed though.
