ok really n00b question...

ok this is a really noob question but when ever i got to do a tutorial and what not the object im making fomr has like box's inside the maine such as this 1 http://www.flipcode.com/tutorials/spaceship/ but when i load it in 3ds or gmax i dont see those box's ??? any ideas or is it just fo rtutorials only? please dont flame

done that many of times but it doesnt make those box's go aroudn the object like i make the box and it doesnt make the smaller box's on the box i made ? lol if that makes sense
