Wow, cool. I thought I was one of the only ones that liked the Disney movie and the character in general.

Looks good. Is it possible the Rocketeer was Boba Fett's descendant? LOL!:D

Yeah he kinda reminds me of a cross between Jango/Boba Fett and the Clone Trooper.

Wow! That is a work of art!
The only critique that I could possibly offer is that in the shin/boot area there are some very thin polys that might need adjustment.
Not that I'm worthy to criticize, but I'm happy to offer any help that I can.
Yet another blow against the Star Wars purists out there.

I try not to post but man ... the Rocketeer... Finally in 3d gaming .... time to step away from the my NES and step up to this new Rocketeer. Indeed Very Nice, very very nice. Done posting.

kman you are an amazing modeler.

You should seriously think about making a jabba the hutt model, though it would be extremely difficult and would require new animations, it would be cool. :)

or hmm, how bout a model of a cloner :)

jabba the hutt is probably a little too time consuming, but a cloner model would be pretty spiffy, using the resize mod you could make it the right height and everything :>

When you created this model, did you do it from a drawing or did you just modify a shape?

07-10-2002, 12:52 PM
Will you please ban his IP? Thank you :D

You should make a model of one of those Kamino people. Imo i think that would be cool to have a battle between a gungan and a kamino person. THey both live in water worlds.

LOL good point

Great model Kman ;)

Lookin Sweet Kman!

I wanna see more!

07-11-2002, 12:40 PM
Wow! Very Nice, The Rocketeer is one of my favourite movies of all time. I had no idea he'd be popular enough to have a model.

Model Looks fantastic.

07-11-2002, 12:54 PM
Sweet model, very accurate! Hope to see some fire from those exhaust tubes! Your post also states that you have 0% animations... does that mean you intend to do some custom animations? ANd what is rigging?

07-11-2002, 01:35 PM
Isn't the back pack a bit oversized? Also the helmet would look better if you included the two raised ridges next to the fin,... Just something to think about.

07-11-2002, 02:39 PM
oh...my...freakin...god... the RocketTEER! damn i need to buy that movie. wow that brings back so man memories, jesus, wow thanks for the trip threw the past...

07-12-2002, 03:30 AM
I'm going to go ahead and add those side ridges. But as for the flames from the back, I don't think that would be all to good. it would be nice if I could have them only show up in a jump, but I don't hink that would be possible. Unless I can weight the ends of it to some part of the body that moves down during the jump. I'll have to check on it though. Having it on all the time would be tacky and would only be an excuse to have a shader on there.

Also, I might just make a jabba model. It would only be a map model though. Possibly for use in a good Sail Barge or Jabba's Palace level, if someone actually make it look good. (Note: the ones already released... suck)

07-12-2002, 03:47 AM
well, kman, at first i was a little skeptical of this model. was i ever surprised! although a jkII purist (i.e. i feel only star wars related characters should be used in-game), i think the model you have created is *BLEEP* incredible.

i'm having a hard time picturing a hero from the early 20th century on earth wielding a light saber, but maybe a mod with new enemies/levels/weapons could be made that he could kick some major @$$ in. dunno, just a thought.

please don't take offense at my comments, and PLEASE don't ban me from the forums because of my opinion ... j/k. :D

great job, kman ... keep up the great work!

07-12-2002, 06:20 AM
kman that is bloody good looking ****! I love how you captured the felling of the rocketeer so well. I am up for doing any extra skins for him... if you want me to that is.

07-12-2002, 10:27 AM
Wow this is totally unexpected... This model is like a twin to the Boba model.

The movie was good so I guess I can expect the model to be even better.. Truthfully I was expecting a Boba re-skin to be a Rocketeer.

07-12-2002, 12:26 PM
I thought I was the only one who liked the Rocketeer. I though everyone just forgot about him. Nice Model!

10-07-2002, 09:11 PM
i was thinking of this model the other day... what ever became of it, kman?

10-07-2002, 09:49 PM
wait a tic? thats what he looked like?

*runs and rents move and watches it*

damn! thats pritty damn good man! Really looks like the real one. and now we got another model that'll look good with the Jetpack mod.

10-07-2002, 10:20 PM
I have put him away for now. I'll most likely pick him back up after I finish Samus and Plo Koon. The model is unwrapped and ready to be animated. Hopefully, I'll be able to get that part of him done myself.

10-07-2002, 11:58 PM
awesome model, I never liked the movie but this guys badass

10-08-2002, 12:02 AM
Will enjoy him with the Jetpack.

10-08-2002, 01:03 AM
Looks great... Two requests...
1. Didn't he have a side holster?
2. Could you make an alternate area inside the head so that you can make a skin without the helmet? (although I love the helmet.)

10-08-2002, 01:42 AM
Looks like that took alot of work. I respect that bunches. Good no Great job.;)
