View Full Version : Serious compile error

Hey guys:)

Im having some trouble with my sp level (see sig:D )

The problem im having is that the compiler throws this error at me......

Lightmaps exceed max memory <10371072 > 83886087>

After recieving this error the level loads in full brightness mode.

The worst part is that it goes though 4 hours of compilation before giving me the error:rolleyes:, which makes it difficult to test out different things to get it working.

If somebody could tell me how to fix it i would really appreciate it:D

Ok i think i might have identified the problem:)

Now to compile and see if it works:D

Fixed it:D

For those that receive that error aswell, what you need to do is reduce the lightmap quality to compensate.

Simply run "bsp Fullvis (1/2 LMs)" instead of "bsp Fullvis" and this should hopefully remedy the error:D

or put in fewer light sources.

That's the problem though, i've only lighted one part of my map so far:D

well there's gotta be some other problem somewhere then.. there's no reason you shouldn't be able to build a map with fullvis.

In other words consider the 1/2 lm a workarounduntil you fix whatever the real problem is.
