View Full Version : Sky Problem When Viewing Bottomless Pit

No, I know how to make skies!
But, for some reason I'm getting some strange blur effect when I look down at my bottomless pit.

Take a look:

What's causing that blur?

becaw your not good enough...


do you have any fog down there... that could be causing it.

you should just redo it

No fog...I just have a cusion down there, but I need the cushion to make da bottomless pit or it won't sound like it's bottomless! :p

well, that looks like the skybox; double check the image you used for the bottom face of the sky

ive noticed this happens in one of ravens skyboxes (i think it was artus_light)

I fixed it, but I had to take out the cusion. :(
Also, can someone tell me one more thing...

How do I get target_level_change to work?
I want the player to be able to get to a certain map after walking on a certain floor brush, how do I do this?

I have a good idea for a Desann illusion!
I can't give any more away or it wouldn't be a surprise! :)

Make your cushion brush into a detail brush, should work fine.

Make a trigger_once wherever you want the level change to trigger and target it at a target_levelchange

Errr...I gave a brush the "target_level_change" function and targetted it to a level_change entity with the mapname function and immdidatly when the game starts it sends you to the map I told it in the level_change entity, and immediatly when you start playing it says "Mission Failed Kyle Katarn Has Died".

WTF? :confused:

um, it sounds like you have a level_change triggering another level_change; i dont think JK2 would like that

make sure the brush the player touches to trigger the map change be a trigger_once, and have that link to a target_level_change

Actually, he had an NPC spawning inside his trigger_once, causing the trigger to fire as soon as the map loaded.

Already dealt with. :D
