View Full Version : Model Idea, YES KMAN I AM GONNA TRY THIS!

07-17-2002, 09:28 AM
I've been trying to make Dead or Alive 3 characters for a while and I'm not very good, this is where I need some help. And yes I have lokked at the Gmax tutorials to help but, they suck. Anyway, could some one else try some (Ayane, Kasumi, Hitomi, Christie) and then if I fail miserably then I will have some thing else? Here are some references :

Kasumi: http://www.dfwcreative.com/dfwgames/doa3/

Ayane: http://doa3.fateback.com/

Hitomi: http://doa3.fateback.com/

hmmmm...............anything else to add?

Chesire-Kat. That was quite very rude of you. You should know better than to flame this person just because he posted something you didn't like.

I think you need to rethink your little action and go edit your post.

Sorry for any offense my post has caused, I edited it to be more friendly. Sorry!

It must be great to have such a simple mind. They say the simple-minded sleep well at night... I envy you.

What do you mean by that?

directed towards cheskire, don't worry. I walked away from the comp and realized just how simple minded that response was.

Oh okay, I hope nobody was offended though, thanks.

the gmax tutorials are not bad, you just have to have well say an iq over 20 to figure them out

guess that rules this guy out. :ewok: :D

Well, seriously, i dont see what your problem is with the gmax tutorials, i just finished with them and have finished my first lightsaber and use it in the game.

given, it is not that good, but skill comes from experience.

bah, you probably gave up on the tuts a long time ago because you are impatient

That's funny comming from you. Well, really more like pathetic.

cheshire is far from simple-minded. eventually most of us "old" regulars (ie april/may 2002... hehe i know alot of people have been here much longer, like from last year...) here in the forums are just getting sick of the way things are becoming, and its just a matter of time until i snap, too
We saw the forums become overrun by people basically saying GIMME GIMME and HURRY UP or DO THIS. Why do you think for instance, yoda's thread has stretched 400 posts or so? i bet about half of them have been as such.
at least keep it to this forum, guys... I have noticed a few people have gone over to a key modeling forum, i'm sure most would know what i'm talking about. You give the JK2 community a bad name, and reflect it in every "SEND THIS MODEL TO COOLGUY3@AOL.COM" post you make, in every "PLZ PLZ READ THIS ARCO LOLOL" post that is made to what is normally a decent forum. At least they dont put up with that crap there. Here, posts like that are pretty much everywhere.

And VHD ---> the idea of flaming is to respond to something someone posted that you did not like

Oh well, the JK2 community has lost a good deal of support from people, and i must admit my interest is waning too, and some of it is because of the situation in these forums. It is not the only cause, definitely not, but i have really noticed the key people who started the modeling area here are either onto other things or simply quitting for the time being, and most have named how models were received in this forum, or how they were constantly emailed for access to early versions of their model, for their reasons. Not sure what i will be doing but i hope to finish up a couple more things for jk2 before i drop it.

oh well, thats my rant for now.

BTW sebulba, what sort of tutorials do you need?
for jk2 or modeling in general?
because modeling in GMAX is basically 3d studio 4. If you find some good tutorials for 3d studio, they will pretty much work for gmax

www.3dcafe.com and www.polycount.com have some good info and links

I agree fully Sithlord.

Try checking out the tutorials at http://www.3dluvr.com and http://www.3dbuzz.com

lay offa D. He was telling the truth. You shouldn't flame people b/c of stuff like that. Also to you guys, don't diss Musashi, he is an excelent conceptual artist and low poly and high poly modeler. I have seen his work. Can we just end this. The last thing we need is another flame war.

You know it's funny Oddjob: A team. I never did like you anyway you little sorry ass piece of ****ing ****. You are pathetic. You will
probably never mount up to anything. Go smart off at someone
else. I apologized to you anyway, obviously you didn't accept it.
I haven't seen anything you've contributed to this community. So go **** yourself.

This forum is getting to where it sucks. I agree totally with Midget Yoda. It's just full of morons and bigshots that all need shot. And I meant to direct the moron part directly to you Oddjob:A team. I have no respect for bigshots or morons.

So much for trying to keep from flaming.

If anyone else would like to attack me, please do so now while I'm
here to defend myself.

Sithlord-II don't leave us too soon. You do an amazing job, I for one would greatly miss you. If that's your choice by all means go for it, I just didn't want to let you leave without letting you know how much I appreciate your work.

Well, sorry to say, but this has quickly gotten out of hand. If you only kept to the topic, I wouldn't of had a big reason to close this. But since, this is not getting a model made, and this could have been done with a REQUEST ONLY.
