View Full Version : Qui-Gon and Dooku hilt SKINNED.
07-17-2002, 02:29 PM
Me and my friend InFlames finally got the sabers meshed and skinned, he skinned the Qui Gon Jinn and i skinned the Count Dooku hilt. There is still some tweaking to do with the skins and all that junk, they are expected to be done late Wednesday or Tuesday. The hardest thing to do will be get the Dooku hilt compiled and in the hands right, because its bent so much its kinda hard to get in and fit right.
anyhow, heres the pics.
Tell us what you think. :c3po:

The only thing I have seen so close to perfection would have to be Mister Punchs' Plo Koon model...my friend I think you are a god :)
No offense to any other great modellers out there!

they look fantastic! and iam impressed, quick too learn u are. maybe u can do obi-wan's esp1 padawan saber. Someone made one, but the files for those have just disappered plus it looked rusty and too big. here's a good referance guide for lightsabersThe lightsaber.com (http://www.thelightsaber.com)
07-17-2002, 03:20 PM

07-17-2002, 04:57 PM
i will do the obi one after we get these released
07-17-2002, 05:20 PM
u have no idea how grateful i'am....thelightsaber.com (http://www.thelightsaber.com) has good referance pics, but im sure u already knew that! i hope u guys have many more great hilts in the future that r original or from the starwars universe.
07-17-2002, 08:57 PM
throw it my way. I'll get your Count Dooku in-game, because it's going to be tricky. On top of that, I've already done a Count Dooku hilt. But your skin totally blows mine out of the water ^_^.
07-17-2002, 08:58 PM
DAMN! They look DAMN nice!!! NICE WORK!
07-17-2002, 09:13 PM
These are fantastic!
07-17-2002, 09:38 PM
whats your email, icq, or aim Chrono?
because i do need help with this, i can get it in just fine, well fine when he holds it with one hand, then when you put saber out and he brings it to two hands, since the bottom half is curved the second hand dosnt even touch the bottom half of the handle
07-17-2002, 10:55 PM
Wow!! Best sabers EVER
07-18-2002, 03:45 AM
thanks for the feedback:D
07-18-2002, 08:08 AM
don't bother with the obi model from scratch. I'll send you the GLM for the one I did so you can reskin it (or touch up on it).
As for the dooku problem, I think I know exactly what it is and I know exactly how to fix it. For a hint, download the saber I made from jediknightii.net and check it out in-game.
07-18-2002, 08:34 AM
whoa i cant wait to see your obi saber with his skin. kick mucho asso amigo :D
07-18-2002, 09:35 AM
For those of you that dont know the skins are seperately done, i did the qui gon and he did the dooku. But its sorta a 1 credit deal since its dealing with out 2 man clan [PS]Optik"cyper" and me [PS]InFlames.
07-18-2002, 10:28 AM

OMG! I just love that dooku saber!
chop, chop! work fast!
07-19-2002, 03:25 AM
I've updated the dooku saber skin a bit on the handle, I had a crummy reference picture to skin off of and I found a better one, you may not be able to even tell but I'll post a pic anyhow. heh.
the qui gon is done, just the dooku hilt to do so far, its just hard to get ingame, he holds it in onw hand just fine, but when the saber it out, and he brings it to two hands, the second hand grabs at the bottom of the handle, well see on the dooku hilt the bottom half is bent, so the hand either clips though the model or the hand dosn't touch the bottom half of the saber at all..
most of the other dooku sabers that are out are like that too, so it may have to stay that way...
07-19-2002, 03:35 AM
those are great guy(s), I just hope they look that good ingame o_0
07-19-2002, 04:02 AM
thanx for all the replies.
here is some ingame pics of the dooku
being help by one hand its fine
but here i am looking through my legs (!?) and you can see how he is holding it, this is not fixable really, because the hilt is bent.
07-19-2002, 04:13 AM
Guys we might either release the sabers today or tommorow pending on how quick we get this done, hold tight

07-20-2002, 02:17 PM
That quigon saber has an error. The metal does not wrap all the way around the button. (try to find some detailed pictures). no big deal. (i made a quigon saber a while back, it's on jk2models.cjb... whatever it is)
07-20-2002, 05:41 PM
yeah i noticed that too, i didnt think it was that big of a deal, but we are gunna fix some stuff up then release update for it and all later on. ill have InFlames fix that, just make it black in that area i guess.
I don't remember seeing it on jk2files.com before it went down. Did you send it anywhere else?
07-21-2002, 04:45 AM
