Who would win in a battle bewteen the dark side and the light side? I have my own opinion about this, I figure Dark would always win. Dark has more power and is evil. And light is...err... there is no words to explain the weakness....

Light would win, unless the light jedi gave into the dark side:rolleyes:

No one would win. There has to be balance to the force. Without dark there can be no light.

Or wait for SW galaxys to come out, and see for yourself.

If they were of the same skill then i think the loser is the first one to make a mistake...it would be a close call and probably a long fight until someone made a mistake though.

But if it was Yoda then he would own all! :D :syoda:

Light would win, its easy...

-If the first one to make a mistake would lose, then it would be the dark sider, because they fight undisciplined

-if we are talking equal force powers here(and its not fair not doing so), dark side force cannot overcome the power of light side absorb

-dark side may be dirty, but since we are talking jedi here, nothing would be unexpected...

I think it would come down to a long and intensive fight, were mastery of the force does not count anyway, since absorb can not be beaten... And seeing that light siders would block every single stroke until the dark sider would make a mistake and WHACK, byebye dark side

Dark would win.

- sheer over power.

- light has no good forces(i talking movies here).

- the only reason obi-wan killed Darth maul what the anger in his heart over the death of qui-gon.

-luke was getting beat down pretty bad by the emperor....

If this where JKO MP, the dark side would win, because we all know that they are a bunch of Choke/throw spammers. :p

If it where an actual fight however, It would depened on the number of Jedi, and how well they are trained.

Just because they are equal in numbers doesn't mean they are equal in strength.

5 Light Padawans vs. 5 Sith Lords, for example.

So this is a hard question really, but as Yoda said, the Dark side isn't stronger, so I would have to go Light side.

You should have just posted this with a poll so I could just Vote "Yoda" and go home.

Ah but remember that Yoda himself said that the Dark side was NOT stronger:yoda:

Maul beat Qui-Gon cause he was getting old and tired.:dmaul3:

Obi-Wan beat Maul cause he was more powerful with the force.:yobi:

Dooku beat Obi-Wan and Anakin cause he was more skilled and powerful.:saberr:

Yoda would have beaten Dooku if he hadnt ran away cause Yodas just the most powerful badass in the galaxy:syoda:

Vader beat Luke cause he was better:duel:

Then Luke beat Vader cause he was better.:lsduel:

Then Palpatine caught Luke off guard cause he was really powerful.:lightning

Then Vader caught Palpatine off gaurd cause he was really powerful.:vadar:

So you see it all depends on whos better at the time. If theyre equals then someone has to make a mistake or its a draw.:thumbs1:

Absolutely. Qui-Gon is right.

Most of you people have it confused. Your minds are clouded by your lust for power. The Dark side is NOT truly stronger. Though it is useful at times it is NOT the better half. Lost the concept is that good is better than evil. Yoda was probably the greatest Jedi of them all and could kick any Sith or Dark Jedis ASS! THAT my friends is the potential of the Light. "Should you choose the quik and easy path as Vader did, you will become an agent of evil." Do not let the Dark cloud your vision. Sidious was able to cloud the Jedis vision slowly over many years in the last years of the Old Republic because the Jedi made a mistake and became too sure of themselves since it was so long since the Dark side had shown itself. Sidious made the same mistake in ep 6 and it cost him his life. The Dark side clouded even his vision. Now Luke Skywalker is the greatest badass in the galaxy. The Light is stronger. And that is that.:yoda:

Now as far as the game is concerned its all about strategy in using which side and which power for whatever senario.

qui gon was one of the best saberists of the jedi order, maul beat him because maul was better then the best, obi wan beat maul because he just witnissed the death of his master, he was giving in to anger. he screamed where a jedi should be calm and peaceful, he was also very lucky to get the drop on maul.

in my opinion the dark side would both win AND lose, the light jedi would die first but the destructive power of the darkside would ravage the victor, allowing for a very short victory celebration.

edit: as for the quote that without dark there can be no light. i agree light is nothing without dark, but dark doesnt need light to encompass everything.

The Living Force would win.

(Living force is light)

The Dark Side is an aberration of the Force, and because of that the Force is always trying to destroy it through vergances and with the legion of Jedi. The Light Side is stronger because Light Siders have the Force on their side; the Dark Siders must twist and beat the Force in line with their base emotions and so the Force will always be struggling against them.

Yoda could beat the crap out of any Dark Jedi or Sith. I think that the only reason he hid on Dagobah was that, while he knew he could destroy Palpatine, he couldn't fight against the might of the Empire to get to him. "A keeper of the peace, I am; a soldier am I not!"

I think the names of the two sides explain everything. They could have just been called good and evil, but lucas used light vs dark to explain the nature of the force. All light needs to be absoluely extinguished for there to be total darkness. Whereas one glimmer of light can illuminate a relatively vast area.

The dark is weaker, yoda said so. The light can counter anything that the dark can do. What i want to know is...do you have to have studied the light side for 800+ years to be sufficiently good with it to defeat a sith lord, with relatively little experience?

Well i think you have to explain who or what represents the dark and likewise for the light. Oterwise it is quite indeterminant.

Light will win, it has to. But i think that anyone who says that light always wins in the movies should wait till Ep III.

Maul only defeated Qui-Gon because of his abilities with a saber. Assuming they were equally skilled, the one with the double blade would win. Remember, Obi-Wan actually lost to Maul, but then Maul's confidence destroyed him. Maul doesn't even use the dark side in his fight with Qui-Gon or Obi-Wan. He doesn't choke either of them or zap them with lightning.

It all is a question of skill. The better saberist will win, since light cannot attack with the force but they can absorb/deflect any dark side attack. I think that most battles are not a decided with the force at all. I guess the "stronger" people in the force can see further into the future and react quicker or something, but that has nothing to do with light or dark. Discipline and training are the other things. Both light and dark are "disciplined" about the same, just in different aspects of the force. So again, that has nothing to do with light or dark.

The one thing that tips the scales IMO is that the destructive power of the dark side eventually leads to their own destruction.

I think that the Jedi in the old republic got too ####ing uptight. They got sooo wrapped up in their beliefs against war and believed it was so wrong to become soldiers that it contributed to their downfall. They got caught off guard a bit. One must become a soldier and fight a war when nessesary, ESPECIALLY when your a Jedi! Hell they make the best soldiers in the galaxy. DUH!! But Yoda was right in hiding on Dagoba after the Jedi were all but wiped out. Theres no way that ONE could stand up to the entire empire. No single Jedi can fight a whole army and survive, not even Yoda. He waited on Dagoba to keep the Jedi line alive and waited for Luke or Leia when they were ready.

I just wanna know from George himself if one can have the Dark side of the Force and still be a good guy. But I'll probably never get that answer. I'll have to assume that its NO.
