Here's the new skin and the new parts I've added to the model. It all came out to be around 2,966 polys. (cutting it close). Also I fixed the top part and lower part to where they are wider.

I am now at the stage of weighting the model (I dread this part since I've never weighted anything, lol). Hope you guys enjoy this.

Better, it's just gotta be more knicked up I think, the metal. Some slight texture would be great (but not a lot).

Yes, it needs more tinkering with. I agree. I used Paint Shop Pro 7's effects plugins to create most of the effects for it. But I couldn't seem to find anything else that worked very well. Any suggestions?

SHADERS!!! Mwahaha!
If you want me to do them for ya.
I'll give him a nice metallic sheen.
Maybe even add some stuff to the skin (your choice)

Yes kman! Shaders are a great idea! and yes I would like you to do them for me! I would be glad to let you fix it up! Thank you! :D

Just tell me where I can send them to. :D

... I think the base is a little too big. The base really isn't much larger around than the thickest part of the torso but with yours its nearly twice as wide.

*edit* Now that I think about it I may be wrong about that but for some reason your model looks way out of proportion.

Well this happened when I was fitting it around that skeleton. I'm not too sure whether I can fix this or not. Well we'll see soon. :)

The base doesn't have ANY red on it. I know that one for certain. ;)

Also is the globe transparent? I know it might be kinda hard to do (but you know how to according to your Samus model, speaking of which the messege seems to have disappeared again) but that would be a very cool feature, and it would make it seem more real too.

VampireHunterD

The red may not be right kman, but it can be used for a team color where you put it since I want Servo to have team and bot support. The red can be used for the team color on the hover thing. ;)

And by the way kman, good job on the rest of it. :)

I hope that if you do use that, that it is not the only part that is blue for the blue team, cause I get confused when I see 2 different team colors.

Ok, I'll fix that part. When I grouped all the skins together I had to re-place everything. This caused me to color it by memory (which isnt good).
And the globe will be transparent, just not in that picture. It was a snap from the shader editor. I had to make a quick export as an md3 to check if the shader went on properly.

I hope that if you do use that, that it is not the only part that is blue for the blue team, cause I get confused when I see 2 different team colors.

Then we shall have the base and the head blue. I'm sure that shouldn't be too hard to sort out. :)

Oh well, even your mistakes provided positive thought on the model. ;)

Oh and one thing I think I need to say about this model:

You may not believe this, but I did absolutely no unwrapping on the model whatsoever. Find that hard to believe, here's what I did:

I used simple UVW mapping to make it look right. I just used a planar map for each and moved it with the gizmo function thing.

As you probably forgot, I have absolutely no knowledge of unwrapping models. I just thought about skinning this model the same way I made my woozy saber hilt. Just plain UVWmapping and moving and rotating maps. It seemed easier since Tom Servo is only a simple robot. lol.

Emon

VHD, I did that same exact thing for my saber hilt. It was much easier since it was already using the existing JPEG of Kyle's hilt.

Of course, when I get to modeling the main character for my SP episode, I'll do it the right way. :)

Yes I wouldn't recommend trying this technique on real life humanoid characters. There's no telling what nasty results you'd get from doing simple mapping on them. :D

SERVO!!!!!
If you have ever played the Sims and downloaded the Crow model I was the one that asked Jerome to do him(that's why he's mishapen Jerome had no idea what the heck he looked like even though I provided all kinds of reference!)

Anyway I will get to be Sir Thomas Nevil Sireaux
I hope you do Crow next :D(Why didn't you do Crow first?)

Notes on the model:
Kman is there a way to have his arm invisible except a shader of springs?I know in every pic you see it looks like a solid shaft but they are small slinky like springs that you get off a C.More Bunz doll

ALERT: IF YOU PLAY THE SIMS GO HERE!
ALERT: THAT WAS A SHAMELESS PLUG!

I did build Crow as a model once. (not for JK2, it was like nearly 2 years ago). I never did get it skinned and I lost the file when my computer crashed back then. I really miss that one I made. I took me so damn long to make it. lol.

But I will make it again. I will set my mind to it after Tom Servo is finished. :D

Awesome model guys! I was hoping someone would make Servo and eventually Crow.

Is anyone planning on making Mike and Joel?

Awesome model guys! I was hoping someone would make Servo and eventually Crow.

Thank you. :) And yes I have vowed to make the Crow player model. :D

And by the way everyone, I have made an entire voice pack for Tom Servo now, it is done. I have a total of 86 files in it altogether. You will be able to find just about any sound you could possibly ever want for Tom Servo. Even a couple you didn't think existed. :D
Plus I also have another sound folder made for him that has all his action sounds. I have quite a few death sounds that you can use at your command. :D

And another thing, I found Tom Servo's "bite me" and "jump up my butt" taunts. There are other things like "I'm Tom Servo reporting" or "Hey someone turn off the fat rotating guy" (one of my favorites. lol). Or even something like "Hope that bomb didn't land on our '68 impala."Or even this: "Nice evenin', I think I'm gonna go and drunk and hit someone". lol. :D

In this new pack I have, usually whatever you're looking for for Tom Servo sounds, you'll find it in this pack. ;)

Now good day everyone, I have to wait on Kman to finish fixing the one part on the skin and I'll be ready to prepare it for going ingame. :D

Hey man one step at a time. :D I'll have ingame screenshots right after I have gotten the weighting and stuff done and tested him out to see if he works right afterwards.

So don't worry there will be screenshots. lol :D

Just remember not to animate his arms at all except for a slight jiggle :)
Oh, and a thought for the team colours...how about doing one version with the opaque gumball machine, as when they're watching the movies?
Be very sweet to see the guys in Outcast, by the way! Now all we need is an SoL FFA map! And I think you've inspired me to convert my G.I.R. model from Maya to a player model :)

I have made it to where for the team colors Tom Servo's entire body will either be blue or red. Now don't go thinking I just colored over the skin and made it look like sh!t. Here's what I did to color it and make it still have its detail:

I opened the .tga file in PaintShopPro7, selected the retouch tool, and chose the option for it called "color to target". This makes it where the models can be made to look like they have one color like red or blue and still have their original detail. It amazes me just how many options you can use at your command in PSP7. :D

Of course, I still have yet to acquire all the need-to-know skills of PhotoShop 7. I'm looking foward to finding out just what I can acheive with that program along with PSP7. :D

Great to hear. Looks great so far and I know KMan will really spruce it up. I will tell my MSTie friends who play JO to get the model when it's out to get this baby. If I find out how to skin, I'd gladly make Mike & Joel.

Well, D sent the model to me and I'm weighting it and capping it. Having trouble gettin it in game though. For some reason assimilate won't spit it out. It keeps pissin on it.
