it's standalone
you can choose whether to be a jedi, bounty hunter, smuggler and few others, as you progress your character evolves.

From reports, I think it is more like Obi-Wan, than anything, after all, it is on XBOX first, but I could be mistaken, look over the net for more previews about it

From what I've read it won't be anything like JK2s combat system. If you watch the trailer you'll see that when dueling the characters don't move as much as in JK2 and blocking occurs more - more like in the films! This is because its an RPG so your character's skill and experience plays a part in how effective you fight - not how fast or sneaky you can be. I'm guessing you could change the combat style and maybe target areas - but you wont get full control of your moves.

i always wanted too have full control off your saber, i guess i have to wait a couple of years more:(
