i would like to have a dead body with the upper part and the lower part separated on the floor next to eachother. a dead body cut in half basically. anyone know how i would do that?

open the console, type:

helpusobi 1 --this will enable cheats

g_saberrealisticcombat 1 --will let you cut off every appendage

i have to warn you, its fun, but its way too easy when you just run by them and cut heads off without swinging.

hmm, that may be hard without a new model of some kind, cuz i dont think you can script an NPC to just split in half

assuming, that you want to have a dead body present to be found by the player, the best way would be to just get a model of two body halves, and put them down where you want them

khewl thanks thats what i did. i purposly named the paths in the skinfile wrong so one npc the lower half didn't show and the other the top hald didn't show, then placed them both in with a death anim in their spawn script. worked great!!

In the anims.h file there are the following animations:

BOTH_DISMEMBER_HEAD1, //#
BOTH_DISMEMBER_TORSO1, //#
BOTH_DISMEMBER_LLEG, //#
BOTH_DISMEMBER_RLEG, //#
BOTH_DISMEMBER_RARM, //#
BOTH_DISMEMBER_LARM, //#

So it looks like you could also do it with scripting.
