Anyone else not like 'em? I mean, if they're going to be in the game, I think they should be very weak the first time you get them. Weak lasers, armor, etc. Maybe good line of sight and speed. I think you should have to research a technology like "Research Tow Cables" for them to be effective on mechs, or something. What do you guys think?

They are very weak. Not much armor or shields! I just don't understand why Lucasarts will not make a game that uses B-wings as the main fighters. They are the coolest looking rebel fighter and the most powerful fighter. All the Star Wars games have X-wings, Y-wings, airspeeders and some have A-wings and V-wings. Why they even made V-wing for Rogue Squadron did not make sense either? I know there is B-wings in the scenario editor but you can't build them at the Rebel Airbase and they are considered toy box units.

Agreed on the B-Wing think(it's my favorite reb fighter).

On the other hand the airspeeder is a little too strong against AA. it gets destroyed in 3 shots when the x-wing in only 2.
And it's already hard enough to counter them.

I meant all the games involving aircraft and things like that such as X-wing Alliance, Rebellion, Tie Fighter, X-wing, X-wing vs, Tie Fighter, Force Commander, etc.

The reason why LA won,t make a b-wing based game it's because the b-wing lacks popularity among the non-fan people.

the people who only have watched the movies will only see the b-wing for about 10-15 seconds so almost nobody knows about it except for us.

B-Wings totally rock i agree, they shud be put in as a buildable unit but only in T4 and has to be reasearched "Advanced Structual Design"

The b-wing is in the scen box. Its not in the game because it was made to counter capital ships, which arent in the game.

Airspeeders are very good. Not only do they give the rebels a counter to mechs, the beat aircruisers and heavies very well. They are also the only air unit that comes with stealth capabilties, which, combined with their speed makes a great pre-a-wing scout. They are well armored and out range fighters, making them versatile hit-and-runners.

Good point Sithmaster. B-Wings are basically anti-capital ship fighters. Therefore, their absence from SWGB is justified. Lets just hope this doesn't start a debate about including capital ships!

They could still squeeze B-Wings into the game.... Instead of making them anti-capital ships just make them anti-air cruiser ships! Or better yet, go back to my old idea of making an anti-aircraft aircraft. I believe I called it an Interceptor class. It would be an aircraft that could not fire at ground units but was real good against all other aircraft. Remember more units is always better.

Yeah, the valkryies and devourers in STarcraft. THey were real good against battlecruisers and carriers.

Airspeeders are really under rated. Strike mech/Airspeeder raiding is a great strat in T3 and in t4 they are probally the best defencive units other that AC's.

Especially because Mech massing in T4 is just oh so common.

My favourite civ is the Wookiees (Berserkers rock) closely followed by Rebels.:)

I like the Naboo, Gungans and Rebels as top 3 civs. Only ever choose Rebels in 1v1's. There farming bonus makes you much quicker.

An Anti Aircraft Aircraft would be great. I already like the mass fighters protecting 10 AC's in t4. With an Anti aircraft aircraft i could do it even better :)

Jeez someone's a little sour that nobody likes the gunship. I would like to a see an air unit that maybe only is good vs air units. In case you haven't noticed yet windu, certain civ's have better fighters than others, and, seeing that fighters are the stardard air unit, a fighter counter would be nice for us people who dont play the republic exclusively.

Might be a bit redundant given the refitting upgrade for ground AA units, though. Would only the weak fighter civs be getting the anti-air air unit? If not, then the civs that are strong in air would simply be that much stronger, since their AA air unit would probably get armour, shields, and the like...
