View Full Version : Basic Textures Help

I'm new to the community, but not to the game. I have been trying to help a friend with a new level he's working on. The only problem I have is properly importing my textures to Radiant (Iím leaving the importing to the game to the level designer). I've read the basic guide lines (.jpg or .tga no compression divisible by 2) but I still can't even get them to load into radiant just to preview them. Just get the message "unable to load (texturename) loading defaults". I'm not completely lost with modding and modeling as I have done some work with UT and Vampire the Masquerade. In fact, off the subject, I find Milkshape a relatively simple 3D program to use for modeling. I will try to post the URL for the Tutorials that helped me get started using it in another thread. However, if anyone can post a link with tutorials on the basics for textures (importing, specs, and necessities) I would greatly appreciate it as i dont expect anyone to fill half a page with trying to explain something thats already written somewhere else(of course unless you really want to ;) ).
