Hi there!

I have one important question!!!

I bought "The Dig" for my PC today, and now Iīm in trouble, because the sound wonīt work. I donīt know what to do, and so I ask you to help me!

The problem is, that the game wonīt detect my sound card, since it was developed ten years ago. Does anybody know where I could find a patch to fix it, so that I can play with sound, since it is announced on the package to be awesome.

Maybe anybody knows a patch that I could download, so that the game works on my Pentium IV with on-board sound card.

I believe many people here had the same problem playing SamīnīMax with proper sound or, well......"The Dig".

Hope somebody can help me out.

By the way, if you donīt know how to help post anyways or ask your friends, since itīs really important to me.

Thanks

I could only find some information LucasArts put out about sound problems in The Dig. You can see what solutions they had right here (http://support.lucasarts.com/trg/tg.asp?id=6&x=74&y=14#SECTION13).

Thanks, but that didnīt help. The game wonīt detect my sound card, and so I guess Iī m forced to play without sound.

Thatīs so bad, since the sound is said to be awesome.

If anybody reads this and knows how to help, please let me know.

Buy a 486 for like $20 from a used computer shop or thrift store. That solves every sound problem possible. Setting your soundcard to 'soundblaster' usually works for me, though, even though my sound card isn't one.

Try bgbennyboy's Quick and easy (http://quick.mixnmojo.com) frontends.
Get ScummVM (http://scummvm.sourceforge.net) and VDMsound (http://vdmsound.sourceforge.net) beforehand though.
