Arnold: I told you I'll be back
THIS IS GONNA BE COOL TO SEE TERMINATOR TERMINATING AND FIGHTING A NEW T1000

this movie is gonna be so cool i can't wait for it, it sounds odd, but when you think about it T2 turned into a sad story, cuz when arnold was bein lowered john was cryin and i felt sorry for him (hey, i was like 6 or 8) and the whole movie was him gettin to know and love this thing that saved his and his mom's lives many times and it started to understand human life but then in the end it dies, and the story is over, i never wanted these movies to end, but when arnold dies, the terminator dies too and arnold is gettin pretty old, i'm sad now :(

I felt sad when Arnold was being lowered into the liquid metal.
I get all choked up and it was just sad. :(
I loved the Movie and can't wait to see the T3.
I still never got around to watching the first one. I have only seen the ending.

Ya man, when I was little watching that arnie getting dipped into liquid metal, I was way sad. He may have been a terminator, but he was also my friend for about 89 minutes.

I still get like that when I watch that movie and that scene. I don't really get emotional at many movies but I always do when I watch that scene.

Ya that seen was sad.....
Why, bucuase it was Arnold. Let's hope the next movie does good.

Hmm...not trying to be an assrag..but Terminator 3 looks a little cheap and cheesy if you get what i mean...
I thought Terminator 3 would take place in the future with some giant war between humans and the robots....
Hmm..still interested in seeing Arnold "come back".
11-12-2002, 08:52 AM
It's always good to see Arnie in action, so I'm also looking forward to T3. :)

Very true....actually just his name guarantees good action.
And the Terminator movies are absolutely amazing anyways...

The only non-good news i hear is that james cameron wont direct it.... :( lets hope he comes to his senses....
11-12-2002, 01:25 PM
it looks awesome. i cant wait til it comes out. :D

First of all, Ratmjedi, go and see Terminator 1 now, you fool! Go, hurry up or you simply can't call yourself a fan. It's still best of the series in my oppinion even though second one doubled the action and added depth to character of Terminator. :)
Part three. I talked with my friend about it recently and while second one of the series is still understandable and acceptable from the story point of view(Terminator leaves part of the hand and chip behind him, which then starts up the eventual Skynet project), third part then again seems too much of a stretch when you first think about it. After Cyberdyne headquarters has been blown up and chip and hand melt away with two terminators, how is the future of machines still possible?
Now, I haven't followed the rumours, so I don't know any story points that may have been revealed so far, but can however make up a possible reason, why machines still fight againts humans in the future. While in T2 James Cameron underlined the fact that Miles Dyson's research project was top secret and he was possibly one of the few who had direct access to it, the other guys(?) may have been members of military intelligence. That might explain why they also had access to research materials and kept copies of them(without Dyson knowing it). They then took over the project after Dyson died.
The above is of course only my reasoning, because I don't have a clue how Jonathan Mostow is going to pull this one up. His ways of doing it might not differ too much from the way Joss Whedon came up the storyline of Alien 4, if you understand what I mean. However my friend heard or read somewhere that there's also going to be fourth one. Hopefully that isn't so, because even though third time's the charm, after that they are sucking the life out from the franchise which should be left alone and appreciated as it is.

I agree. You can have too much of a good thing...and then it starts to go rotten. I felt that way after the second Alien film. The third one just seemed to be rehashing the first one...and it's a downward spiral from there, unless you can come up with some really innovative ideas.
I guess it's a lot to do with expectations...and 'extended' universes often don't help matters much. I had read the graphic novelisation of what happened 'after' Aliens (where Hicks and Newt were still alive) and so I had that story in my head...and it all went out of the window with Alien 3. The same sort of thing happens with the new Star Wars films...you expect one thing...and something else happens that doesn't seem to fit with your perception.
I liked the first 3 Lethal Weapon films...but the 4th...no. I liked the first 2 Die Hard films...but the 3rd...no. I know that's down to personal preference, but when you start to think something is straining the bounds of credibility, it's time to move on to something else.
I too think it's a shame Cameron won't be involved with T3...but other directors can sometimes bring something fresh to a franchise. :)
Anyway, I always think of Arnie as the Terminator...and I don't know how much more mileage he has for this kind of role. A Terminator film without Arnie would be something else entirely...

Oh, this is going to be great - no doubt here on my part.
However, is there another trailer which shows some actual movie footage? The trailer linked in this thread is very good, but it doesn't really show anything apart from a fancy schmancy T-3 logo.... :(
yep, that trailer sucks! :( I wouldn't mind seeing some actual film footage too. T3 is gonna be awesome I reckon!
