Boba is a clone of Jango.....so that makes them the same. I'm not a big fan of the Fett's. Although I do like Jango better :D

Welcome to LucasForums.com ;)

Dash Rendar is a cool bounty hunter aka mercenary. But Boba is the best. Even though hes a clone of Jango hes learned more and has more skills. He learned everything from dad and then a lot more later! So as is natural with generations, the offspring become better and better. Its kind of like evolution.:jango::fett:

I would have to say that Boba is better than Jango. Boba Fett lived longer than Jango (I think).

I think Boba is better. The only true way to distinguish which one is better is the fact that green is cooler than blue... therefore Boba!

Boba, though, lived during a time where there were hardly any jedi's. Both Jango and Boba were killed by jedi's.

I must say I prefer Jango Fett, and for two very good reasons.

1: He has brilliant armour. His is silver, smooth and coldly chilling, whereas Boba wears battered green and red rubbish. I know it's the same armour, but Jango shows us what all the weapons do. Boba simply shoots his rifle a lot. Boring.

2: Jango Fett is the ally and personal bodyguard of Count Dooku, the greatest Star Wars character ever. Anyone associated with the Count is brilliant, and (as far as I can see) Jango has more ties with the dark lord than Boba. Does Count Dooku even know who the little ten-year-old is standing in his VIP box?

"Who are you? Get out of my personal VIP box!"
(vrumm, wum wum, fzzz)
(Boba Fett lies on the floor, in several charred pieces)
"Now, on with the executions..."

I prefer Jango too cuz... blue is my fav color (!!!) and he has 2 pistols, instead of one like Boba in ROTJ. BOBA is a weird name, Jango sounds better!

But we all know here that the best character is of course Count Dooku (!!!)

i don't think so.

after seeing his father die, boba's rage and hate for the jedi turn him into a cold-blooded psychopath.

the somewhat noble traits of his father, such as working for the richest and most powererful / keeping his armour clean, these traits are gone. boba will work for anyone and kill anyone, for money.

he may have been born a jango fett, but only Boba remains.

3)He uses two pistols, and anyone who uses two guns tops a guy with one in my book

Hey, Obi-Wan13 has now magically changed into Captain Archer from "Enterprise"...

The sheer fact that "Star Wars - Bouny Hunter" is based on Jango Fett and not Boba Fett is proof enough that Jango rules, and Boba is a cheap knock-off (with dented armour). LucasArts could have easily made the game about Boba Fett, but they chose Jango because he is better. No messing, straight up, Jango Fett rules!

Next to Count Dooku, of course...

They made Jango the character to use cause hes never been in a game before. Boba has. So you use the newest characters created. More interesting. More fan appeal. New stuff to learn. More buyers. History shows that when trained over generations offspring get better and better. Its a fact. You use what dad gave you and create new and better things. How else do you think people evolve and get better?

My dad learns how build a house. I learn to build a house from him faster cause he already knows how and I then discover how to make a chimney. My son learns how to make a house with a chimney faster so he spends his time creating a stove! The first generation could only build a house. The third could make a house, chimney and stove. Think people, its a good thing! Shiny armor doesnt mean a better fighter. In fact worn armor means more experience and survival. Boba has seen a lot.

It is said that Boba became the best BH in the Galaxy... but, he's Jango's clone... so he is Jango, with more experience.

Btw, does anybody know how old he was in RotJ?

Yes thats a very good way of putting it. Better than I did. But hes still Boba. 2 of the same person biologically but the clone gets more experience.

Well hes about 10 in ep2. So 2 years to ep3, 20 to ep4, 3 to ep5, and 1 to ep6...36 years old in ep6.:)

Jedi. She was never a real bounty hunter. She worked for the Emperor, then a smuggler, then the Jedi.

Just because he is a clone doesen't mean that he has all of Jango's Skill. Boba was unaltered so that means that he didn't have any genetic tampering. He learned from Jango for the short time that he was with his father. So he did get skills from his father.

I also think that they are both on equal grounds. Jango lived in a time of Jedi. Boba did not. Someone also said that Boba's armor means that he was more expierenced. Maybe Jango was that good but didn't get his armor dirty. You can say the opposite and say that Boba was reckless and got all his armor dirty. They were both Notorious. There reputations were there to show there acomplishments.

Boba also saw much more. He saw the destruction of the Republic and the forging of the Empire. They were both really good. Jango lasted in a time of Jedi. That isn't vey easy you know. I say they are both good but Jango is my favorite.

Jango was also trained by a Mandolorian named Jaster Mereel. Before it was that it was Boba's original name. I saw a trailer for the game Bounty Hunter and there Jango is told to get a new ship but he say's no cause the one that he is using currently was Jaster Mereel's. Jaster Mereel is tied to the Fett family in some way or another. Jango was also the last Mandolore. Just some info for some more consideration.

Hm... I think Jango is much more skilled than boba. He did live through the time of the jedi, and you have to take in consideration that as you clone something over and over again, it loses quality (an example of this being the clonetroopers not being as good as Jango fett)

it's not a photocopier ! cloning creates an exact copy. and all the clones could be made from the original source everytime. the clones are deliberatly made less independant or as you put it "good" as jango. boba is an exact and equal copy, genetically that is.

That is incorrect. It is impossible to prevent mutations from occuring in clones, and thus each clone is distinct and different from the base code used to create it. Furthermore, environmental factors can also mutate genetic code. Environment serves to shape much of a person's personality, intelligence, and other traits, as well. So Boba and Jango are very much different people, similar in ability, appearance, and genetics, but different none-the-less.

Where are you getting this stuff from? starwars movies? Or real world science? Because Iím pretty sure that in the star wars universe they can make a perfect clone no worries, and I donít really give a toss about real world mutations in the genetic code attributed to environmental abnormalities. That is all irrelevant.:)

Just a little quote from the SW Databanks to support the fact that clones are not always perfect in SW:

The relentless battery of physical and mental training within such an accelerated lifetime could potentially drive a clone mad were it not for the highly structured and balanced development program instituted by the Kaminoans. Though care was taken to protect the clone psyche, the fully mature clone cannot be said to have a "normal" personality, as their identities are wholly shaped by military training and subservience to authority.

The Kaminoans are obsessed with order and control over variables, and carefully monitored the developing clones for any deviance in biochemistry. These statistical anomalies were smoothed over under the supervision of Kaminoan Chief Scientist Ko Sai through extra conditioning. The Kaminoans reconditioned an average of seven aberrant clones for every two hundred clones.

So you know what....

Real world science does apply. Perfect cloning would involve a dynamic reshaping of the laws of physics, a reshaping that it not present in the Star Wars universe. Besides, if we're talking about purely what you can see from the movies, there is no evidence that real world science DOESN'T apply. And considering the emperical evidence available, I'd say it does.

Please write the mathematical formulas governing the physics of the Star Wars universe and show me how they either allow for interaction of closed systems or completely redefine the laws governing particle interaction, and how that emulates our universe so well. Until you do, I will assume that the Star Wars universe shares many of our universes attributes, including the inability to prevent genetic mutations.

I just gave you were you can find them. I am not going to write them down to you cause there are no mathematical formulas. If you would like I can have George Lucas call you and tell you himself? :p

I am not trying to make fun at you but you keep coming back and I honestly can't give you the answers that you want. You need to not be so critical here. It is a Sci-Fi movie and we can also argue about how a vehicle such as a TIE Fighter can bank in space at such a high speed and so sharp turns. You can choose to believe what you want cause we are alowed to do that here. I just hope that you do not take my comment in a offensive way. Hope there are no hard feelings. :)

To quote some guy here at LF (don't remember the name, this is not an exact quote either) :

"Jango Fett was killed by a great Jedi Master. Boba Fett was killed by a blind guy with a stick."

Anyways

2: Jango Fett is the ally and personal bodyguard of Count Dooku, the greatest Star Wars character ever. Anyone associated with the Count is brilliant, and (as far as I can see) Jango has more ties with the dark lord than Boba. Does Count Dooku even know who the little ten-year-old is standing in his VIP box?

The task that Dooku accomplished best was probably training Qui-Gon Jinn, the greatest Star-Wars character ever. To get some new life in this debate, I will also now tell you all that if ep2 dooku and ep1 Qui-Gon would have batteled, Qui-Gon would have won. This has a lot to do with Qui-Gon's type of fighting, strategic slices, perfectly timed, but not too fast. With this tactic, he owned Maul before Maul started cheating. Because Qui-Gon fought safely, but still with a speed less than Maul prefered, and keeping an instant pressure at Maul. Also, as an earlier Jedi Master, Dooku has hounor, and is therefore [very important]not cheating[/very important]. The outcome of a such battle would, after my opinion, be that Qui-Gon would've defeated his earlier master.

lukeiamyourdad
11-27-2002, 06:44 PM
Here is what I conclude with about Jango and Boba. There is no proof that either of them is better then the other. Mainly because we didn't Boba fighting a lot. He only fought against Luke for like 10 sec in ESB and 1 min in RotJ. If we saw Boba in his full might we could compare him to Jango but he almost didn't do anything!

Since when does real world science apply to a science fiction?!?!?!
Force powers for example. Nobody can choke somebody with their mind. It's impossible. Same with force lightning. So we can assume that they can create a perfect clone. Star Wars is not fenced in by "Real world science." ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE IN STAR WARS. If there were boundaries, Star Wars wouldn't be fun, now would it?
