But I'd like to understand this error.

Fortunately, others have stepped in.

This error is the BANE of my existance. It's caused me to scrp at least two maps. And here's what it means :

On any given map, there is an upper limit to how many brushes can be a func_whatever. Doors, ,buttons, ,platofrms, doesn't matter, every brush that gets turned into one of these counts toward the total. THus, if you make an elevator that uses 20 brushes, then all 20 count towards this total.

For MP, it's roughly 500 or so... double that for SP.

Once you reach this limit or exceed it, you start seeing the CM_inlinenumber bad error. At that point, you have two options - cut away parts of the map, or just drop it altogether.
