View Full Version : Custom texture and leveshot problem.

I have one custom texture called insignia.jpg that wont show up in the game. It's a gray and white grid instead. Plus my levelshot won't work. Maybe it's the wrong size? Here is the error...
Refusing to load non-power-2-dims(1024,768) pic "levelshots/ffa_dxsc"...
Refusing to load non-power-2-dims(411,300) pic "textures/custom/insignia2"...
WARNING: shader 'textures/custom/insignia2' has lightmap but no lightmap stage!
Can anyone please tell me how to fix this?

I REALLY DONT KNOW WHAT this error is but i did have the smae problem with textures not showing up in the game...... to fix this i would cake an existing texture from the game and past the texture i made over it then save it with a different name.

yeah you could do that or you could make the lightmap stage. if you want to know check out some mapping tut's on cus. textures

Actually, it's even simpler than that.
The error message says it all - "Non-power of two"
What it's referring to is the dimensions of the texture and levelshot. They need to be a power of two (2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 518, 1024, etc..) for each dimension. THey can be any combination of those numbers, but it HAS to be a power of two. So, your levelshot should, idealy, be 1024 x 1024. Your texture should be resized to match the dimensions it most closely resembles.
