You got to be kidding! Vader couldn't even defeat a nearly untrained moisture farmer, who happened to find a lightsaber in his backyard. While Dooku is one of the best fighters in SW, he perfectioned his saber skills for 50 years! Dooku would have owned any original triology character.

A fight between Dooku and Vader would be like this:

Vader: "Now I am the master muahahaha
*chop**chop**swshhhhhh*
Vader: "AAAAA my poor legs!"
*bzzzzzzzzz*
Vader: "You bastard! You shut down my breathing system with your lightning! *ghasp*"
*schhhwummmmm*
*vader's head rolls away*

Were you ever impressed by Vaders fighting in the old triology? I wasn't at least. Dooku's fighting in ep2 however, was simply marvelous, deadly effective and looks cool. He fried Anakin, chopped up Obi-Wan, before he chopped of Anakin's arm. And then he actually managed to hold stand against Yoda. Vader would never have been able to do this.

Hmmm......where is Dooku 2? I'm sure if he votes he'll go for dooku..........i voted vader..he IS the chosen one after all......

I voted for Dooku cuz HE OWNS EVERYONE!!!

But this damn little anakin will probably kill him to take his place... that'll be the worst part of the saga...:( :( :(

And YES I do hate anakin

Vader is the man. If you look at his fighting style he only uses's only one hand until Luke starts getting angry and then he use''s both. Dooku most of the the time is using both his hand's. Vader is that strong that he doesn't need both hands. Also in he doesn't have to poin't at the thing's to throw them. Dooku has to use his hand as if he is concentrating to throw it. Vader just with his mere thought's can throw stuff. Vader also goes on after he is hit on his shoulder by Luke. It didn't affect him that much.
Vader was Palpatine's choice for a reason. Maybe it was because he was stronger.

First of all: Vader

second: You just can't compare the fighting style of the old Trilogy with the new one.

Third: Vader is the Chosen one.

DarthMuffin

Dooku most of the the time is using both his hand's

Dooku uses 1 hand vs anakin w/ 2 sabers

You just can't compare the fighting style of the old Trilogy with the new one.

I agree.

well...IF you compare the old and new trilogy fighting, then Dooku, no prob...however, we knoe Dooku does not make it to the old trilogy, so that means that either:
1)Vader kills him
2)Mace or some other Jedi kills him and then goes on to be killed by Vader

so, my vote has to go to Vader

Vader of course. Why else would Sidious eventually choose him over Tyranus? Cause hes better. Hes the chosen one. The most powerful. Throught the prequels weve seen Palpatine grow more and more interested with Ani. He wants him as his apprentice.

And you young Skywalker. We will watch your carrier with great interest. Ep1

You dont need guidence Anakin. Eventually you will learn to trust your feelings. Then you will be invincible. I have said it many times. You are the most gifted Jedi I have ever met. I see you becoming the greatest of all Jedi Anakin. Even more powerful than Master Yoda. Ep2

The facts in history show that Vader is the best Sith next to Sidious. Perhaps the second best Sith of all time.

Btw all you Dooku nuts. Did George have Nick Gillard as his stunt coordinator in the OT?

I think Nick Gillard was the stunt coordinator. Mr. Lee had a stunt double (probably for that big jump), but i heard that he did most of the fight by himself.

OT?

sry, but wat is OT?

Irrelevant. Unless George says that the Original Trilogy fights are supposed to be more action packed, the stunt coordinator is not important.

The big jump was done by a CGI version of Dooku. Much of the fight is done by himself, with the running and jumping parts done by both CGI and stunt person.

OT is an acronym that stands for The Original Trilogy.

I think I know why OT had poor stunts.

Vader's suit and they could not use CG stuff.
I think it's pretty hard for the guy in Vader's suit to jump around and make good stunts.

Most of the fight's scenes that are very fast are also not him. What they did was use the Stunt Double's body and then they would past Lee's face onto it. They did a good job considering that you can't even tell unless you watched Disc 2.
I also agree with the suit being heavy and them not having advanced CGI.

From what I remember hearing in an interview with George Lucas, he was saying that with the Original Trilogy, Obi-wan and Darth Vader were beyond their prime years, which is why they weren't flying around like madmen. Seriously, if you were 30 or 60, would you be flying around a room with a saber. Yoda is an exception because of his Species and his connection with the Force. Lucas said that for the Prequels, he wanted to introduce the Jedi and Sith in their prime, and being able to jump around with amazing reflexes and agility.
But I think Vader would win. Dooku's only lightsaber advantage over Obi-wan was that his blade had variable lengths, and was able to get cheap shots in to render Obi-wan to a weakened state. And imagine how much training and experience Anakin will get during the Clone Wars. 3 years is an ample time to improve one's skills.. I mean, look at Luke. He spent mere weeks/months training.

yeah I totally agree, anakin had exceptional skills with a saber in ep II, but dooku was already a master and had a style that was unfamiliar. I think in ep III he will kiss some butt, and I think it will be anakin who kills dooku

Boba Rhett, I love your avatar.

Even by comparing the character profiles of Dooku and Vader, one can see that Vader would kick his @$$ from Tatooine to Coruscant and back again.

The saber fights in the OT weren't as fast as in the PT, for one simple reason: they didn't have so many computer effects in the OT. If GL did a remake of the OT (let's say that he has a time machine and brings back the actors just the way they looked back then, and goes by all the original scripts, and doesn't direct any of them, OK?) then the saber fights would rock in the OT, too. You can't compare the two trilogies' fighting styles because the fights in the PT were probably not even possible at the time of the OT.

In summary, Vader is called 'Lord Vader' for a reason: he owns everyone (to paraphrase l33t-speak.)

Vader, definently. he dosent need [an oddly shaper] lightsaber for attack speed. he uses the classic style

btw, i bet Palpatine would whoop both they ***** in a lightsaber fight. He beat the livin **** outta Maul in a duel...<-- little known fact. I wonder if Palpatine'll fight in EP 3

Hmmm, I have a challenge for all the Vader lovers here. Compare the figthing of Dooku in ep2 and Vader in ep4-6. Look at each of them, at how good they fight, wich include their speed, how accurate they are, how efficent they are and how much they actually manages to do. Now, is there any of you that can still say that you think Vader fights better than Tyranus?

This is not a thread about who you likes most, this is a thread about who would win if they had fought. And the only way you can do that is to compare their fighting, not compare how cool each of them are!

Do not simply say "Vader owns Dooku all the way!" without saying any more, you have to give reasons for your answer.

And what if you think about what Anakin/Vader actually does in the episodes so far? If we start from ep1 and upwards, he firstly disobeys orders and accidently blows up a trade fed installation, he manages to kill a camp with brown, stupid tuskens, he manages to be beaten by a 70-year old sith apprentice twice, he manages a tie between him and another 70-year old jedi, before the 70-year-old jedi takes suicide, he manages to beat a nearly untrained, inexperienced moisture farmer, and he manages to be beaten by a nearly untrained moisture farmer.

Now, if you look at what Dooku managed: Becoming a Jedi Master, using diplomatic skills to get a huge droid army, he manages to get the plans for a deathstar, he manages to fry a nearly fully trained Padawan, before chopping up his master, before chopping up the padawan again, and then he manages to be nearly equal to Yoda, and manages to escape from the greatest Jedi Master Star Wars have ever seen.

But who purged so many jedi? Vader!

And as I have said it earlier, YOU JUST CAN'T COMPARE THE OT FIGHTING STYLE WITHE PT FIGHTING STYLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

has everyone not watched the saber duel between vader and luke in ep 6? if you look at the saber duels in episode 2 they don't really show any of the action at all all you really see is dooku and anikin's faces not the real action you don't see both of them swinging at each other just their saber in front of them, now watch the duel on the death star between luke and vader, now that is a duel with a lot of action and if you don't think so then you have something messed up upstairs, used the force one too many times, been shot at by tie fighters once too often if you catch my drift. now dooku is a fine swordsman but he doesn't control the force enough to be able to defeat vader in an all out fight. vader's hate and anger due to the death of his mother allowed him to fully grasp the dark side of the force and he would have had dooku for lunch and picked the pieces out of his teeth with his light saber. anyone who says there is more action packed lightsaber scenes in the prequels has been doing drugs. i grew up with the ot and they have more actual fighting scenes with the lightsabers except for episode 1 the duel between jinn, obi-wan and maul was about as packed with action as the duel between father and son in episode 6 which i liked alot.

now i don't remember who said that dooku used 1 hand in his duel with anikin but he was only partially right, he used one hand for only a few seconds then had to revert back to both, vader in his first duel and even through most of his second duel with luke used only one hand for the majority of the time and if you think i'm wrong on any of this check out the movies for yourself ( i've watched them so much over the last 25 years that i about know the ot by heart and have seen episode 2 so many times because of my son that i know it by heart. any of you dooku nuts needs to watch episode 2 more closely before posting comments like "he used 1 hand while anikin had 2 lightsabers" like i said he used one hand for only a few seconds before being forced back to a two handed grip to continue the duel.

the fighting styles can't be really compared but dooku used straight old fashionded swordplay while vader used a more finesse style if you can call it that. yes he was hampered by his suit but he had more control over the dark side than dooku could have had had he lived another 200 years, why?? because vaders anger made him stronger and you have to also look at the fact that vader was the "chosen one" was dooku? hell no! so that ends my view on this matter.

may the force be with you all (even you dooku nuts)
