Why do i have the feeling that this new "feature" is going to increase spam on the whole system by like.. loads. Lets just hope that it doesnt get taken too seriously. I also see a few security implications coming into play, how to do you stop someone mass deleting messages when they be "Moderator for a Day" i can just see huge numbers of messgaes being wiped. Views anyone?

Well spam gets deleted and if your post is deleted you lose points. I think that's what it said.

As for the Mod for a Day thing, I don't know, could be fun as long as you don't have to clean up the mess afterwards.

I'm not a Mod so it doesn't really bother me :p

Maybe that's part of being Mod for a day. You have to delete all the spam.

i just think its quite risky, letting someone loose with mod access, could wipe the whole of a forum.. i just hope that they limit it in some way.

You're right. It certainly is a bit different to putting Italics in your name or whatever. There must be some kind of restrictions behind it or a way of undo-ing a mass deletion or something otherwise it wouldn't be up there.

I guess we won't know for sure until someone does it.

heh, got to love that "until someone tries it" lol, cant wait to see it happen, the only way to undo a mass delete is to have a backup before they start deleting, oh the joy for the admins!

lets have an update, i got myself 3000 points (dont ask how) and blew them all on rubbish when i found out that the Moderator for the day is infact useless and doesnt exist. Subsequently i have been banned from using the Store.

I did a bit of looking into the 'Rate' feature and it's effect on credit system - got myself a glow, italics, sticky and a store ban :)

Hopefully they can fix this, or, like Riffage said, people will use these loopholes to become mod for a day (Would only take around 30mins max)
