There's this new article at Gamespot with some interesting new info on KOTOR.
Here's the link:
http://gamespot.com/gamespot/stories/previews/0,10869,2762274,00.html

The following excerpt is a section that I found most interesting:

"In all, you'll visit eight worlds throughout your quests, some of which will be completely new areas. One such locale is the sprawling city of Teris, which can best be described as a decaying version of Coruscant. During this particular sequence, Imperial battle droids and what looked like stormtrooper precursors were invading the city, while a group of Jedi knights were fending them off with lightsabers. These battles were quite impressive and looked more like something out of a third-person action game than a typical BioWare RPG. The combat sequences between the Jedi knights and the Sith lords resembled the final fight sequence in Episode I, complete with back flips, twirling sabers, and high kicks."

From all the information on the article, sounds like it will be awesome.

The more I read about it, the more I want it. I haven't played an RPG in quite a while - mostly because they've all gone Iso3D or birds-eye view. But from what I've read regarding KOTOR, it's going to bring the camera much closer to the central character, and allow you to tweak the angle. For me, that is a major plus.

I don't mind playing in 3rd person - I did it in JK/MotS, Heretic 2 and now Rune. So I am hoping I will be able to play KOTOR in a similar fashion if I want to. A lot will depend on that. Fingers crossed.

I'm intrigued about the reference to something like Imperial battle droids, and fore-runners of Stormtroopers, considering this game is set 4000 years before the movies. I'm sure it must be something completely different, but I'm hoping they are not too similar to the stuff in the classic trilogy, because then the prequel films won't make a great deal of sense.

Nevertheless, I think of all the games I'm anticipating, KOTOR is going to be the longest to play.

Well maybe there was ANOTHER empire before the one we see in the classic trilogy (and it wouldn't have to have been as big as the one in the classic trilogy either).

4,000 years is a long time, a lot can happen in that time.

Didn't "Tales of the Jedi" only take place 1,000 years before ANH?

Actually, TotJ was also 4000 years before ANH. And we know there was a Sith Empire back then, so that's probably what "Imperial" refers too. The difference is that this one doesn't rule the entire galaxy, and there are lots of Sith Lords instead of just two.

This game sounds like it's going to be good.

I do hope it's a little less 'hardcore' than Baldur's Gate 2 though, which is very complex.

What an info drought on this!:(

The game sounds great! And since it's era provides lots of Sith plenty of enemies to duel against, probably expect to see some infighting between the Sith ranks aswell.
Based on D&D rules(that Bioware know so well), any thoughts about that?

They said it was going to be more action oriented than the BG series, I hope that doesn't mean losing of the type of character interactions we saw in BG2.

Whadya mean by Simpson "hardcore", u mean the tons of spells and stuff or what?

Yea, ur right:)
And this whole section had been dead when I visited.
Too bad they didn't give us a few screens or anything from the demo:(

It's probably changed so much from that E3 demo that they didn't want to risk showing something that wouldn't be there in the final game.

They definitely need to start releasing some information on this game, IMHO. I know there were a couple of previews around the time of the announcement in May, but since then...nothing. Not even a piece of concept art. It's a bit ridiculous announcing a game and then saying nothing about it. If they weren't ready to release information this year...then I think they should have announced it at next year's E3. This could start to turn into a DNF scenario...
