Can someone help me on the Helms' Deep: Courtyard. I've tried 3 different times, and I am always getting closer, but its always right after the trolls appear that they(orcs) break through the gate, causing me to fail my mission. Any suggestions? All my guys are at least at a level 8 skill with all items purchased (took some time to earn the experience without cheating).

The POR was easy for me with legolas. It was Gimli where I had trouble since he was short with a small weapon, even with the long range attack. But I still managed to beat nearly every level with little difficulty until I got to Helm's deep. The breached wall took 2 times to beat.

i could try to help when i get there right now im tryna figure out how i kill the wolf of isneguard boss

Andy867
01-20-2003, 01:27 AM
That's easy.

Heres a fool-proof strategy

1 - Go into the water so that the boss can't hurt you. Then kill off the weaker wolves, by holding down X to make the arrow more powerful.

2- When the Boss gets the Warg up on its Hind legs, shoot an arrow at it, then charge it and use a combo or devastating attack (2-3 good hits can get in usually) then just retreat to the water and repeat the steps till he dies. Oh, and if you can't get back to the water, just parry his charging attack. Sure it will knock you down, but no health will be taken away.

El Sitherino

oh thanks i knew the hind leg thing but i just didnt get the charge part thanks andy.

Andy867
01-20-2003, 01:33 AM
Basically, all the arrow to the hind leg do is stun the warg so you can race up and attack him. So, once I myself got that figured out, I took mere seconds to finish him off.

yeah. its kinda hard to see it for me since i have it on my little tv but then i switched it to my big tv and i noticed that. thanks again andy.

El Sitherino
01-20-2003, 05:22 AM
ok andy i just beat the courtyard. it took me a while. what you have to do is when you go save one of the men. stay and fight on the wall shoot the archerst that are on the other wall and then continue fighting the urukai and orcs that are on the wall until the trolls come then you go and kill the orcs. when you kill the last orc it will fall into the gate and thats the end of the level.

Kain

spend all that time defending the wall and it still gets destroyed...*shaking head slowly*tsk tsk EA, :tsk: tsk tsk...:disaprove

Andy867
01-20-2003, 07:03 PM
Well, that I knew because of the archers on the wall, plus you have to save Aragorn from being overwhelmed...

Yea, LOTR: TTT is a great game. I beat it so if you guys need any help I'm here. Do you guys know who the secret character is?

BTW: I also like the interviews with the real actors while they are playing the game. Gimli is pretty funny:p

Hey Dark, whats your tip for beating the Courtyard?

Well I dug out something from Gamefaws, if this doesn't help, tell me where you get stuck specifically and I will help.

Before you start this battle be sure to have taken a break cause this battle
will make your hands hurt. If you have a certain objective to complete don't
spend your time killing every orc, goblin, and urak-hai. This is where your
skills and techniques at combing combos all come down to. Your basically
protecting a wooden wall that stands between you and the king and civilians.

The objectives: 1) protect the wall, 2)save Legolas, 3) run back and protect
the wall from ever-increasing enemies, 4)take out the archers, 5)go back and
protect the wall 6)take out the two trolls

2)To save Legolas there is a stairs at the opposite end of the big wooden door
that leads to wall, notice the people fight in the background on the second
wall. You can't save them, so just move along and save Legolas.

4)When you hear "Archers on the Wall" run back to the wall. Remember those
guys fighting in the background? Well that place has now been taken up by
enemies with flaming arrows whom you can now target with your range weapon.
Take out at least a majority of them and then run back to the wall becuase the
wooden barracade is taking a beating.

6)Two trolls will appear and its your job to stop them. Take out the closest
enemies near the trolls so you won't be interrupted while doing a charged
attack(hold triangle). Take out both trolls and then watch the cut-scene.

NOTE: If you really suck at the combos and it seems like you're taking too
long on just one enemy try using the right analog stick. While the left
controls the direction, the right stick has attacks. Rotate the right stick
clockwise or counter-clockwise and you'll start doing the special moves you
purchased more often. You'll also take out more enemies at an incredible pace
making the last line of defense battle almost a piece-of-cake.

the only problem with the game is that it was too short.

Gimli - if i could help you with the game i would, but if you're watching this then you got farther than i did!

the guy has sausages for fingers! :p

I would have rather it been Gandalf.
That was cheap of EA to not make it Gandalf.
There was very little difference in playing with Isildlur than when your playing with Aragorn.

Agreed. Gandalf is in the game, he has his spells and everything. He should be playable.

Another thing that made me PO was in the Gameboy Advance Version. Gimli is a frikin summon. He isn't a playable character and Gandalf is. I don't get it.

Is it me, or was the Tower of Orthanc a little too easy? I mean, after each floor making your health come back. Now survival on the Tower, THAT would have been a challenge, even though I found that my enemy is also my friend, especially the trolls if you guys know what I mean. :D

Yea I found it extremely easy. Especially with Isildur. For some reason Isildur seems stronger then Aragorn even when Aragorn is level 10 with all his moves. They have identical moves. But when I am doing the tower I can fly through it with Isildur but with Aragorn it is a little more difficult. Strange things, I see.

BTW: So you beat the last level Andy? Heh, I love it, it is my favourite one. Pure fighting.;)

Ya, I finally beat the Courtyard. I took that bit of advise to use the right analog stick to use the combos... God, I must have finished off the courtyard with more than 80% of it remaining!!! if there was a level higher than 10, my legolas would have reached it. I had 50 Fair kills, 30 Good kills, 10 excellent kills and 30 Perfect kills.. I was slaughtering everybody! It was absolute MADNESS!!! :D I LOVED IT!

Yea, the courtyard is great fun. I wish the character's levels could go higher then 10.:(

That would be sweet if they made a pc version and gave it online capabilities and create a huge LOTR world. That would rock!:)
