Not really an important thread but something I've just been wondering. :)

What is the difference between a mod and an administrator? And also how do you get to this status?

Thanks

A MOD is a person who looks after the Forum which it is hired, example: if two threads are exactly the same they merge them, and if a LOTR thread is in the On-Topic forum, they move them to the Off-Topic forum, they also have the power to delete posts and threads, they also have other powers these are just a few, and they are also a staff member for the SW game site or SW site they r hired to, I think.

A administator is a person who creates the SW game or SW site that is on LForums, and he also has the same powers the moderators have, I believe I am 75% sure.

and I think the Adminstrator contacts u if he or she wants u to become a Moderator.

Glorfindel is "pretty" correct there. :) The simplest way to explain my job [as a mod] is that I try keep the SWK.com forums "clean and tidy." Move a thread here, move a thread there. Edit/delete posts and close them if I have to.

Most often the forum moderators are staff members of the site the forums correspond with. Not all of the time, but most of the time.

You did forget about the supermoderators though. The main [not the only] difference between a supermod and a "regular" mod is that they can mod in all of the forums on the LFN and not just for one forum like I can.

Administrators do all of the "behind the sceens" work around here......trying to make sure everything is running "smoothy." You'll most likely see the admin at the LF help/feedback center.

Here is the link to find out who are the admin/supermods....

Mod is not usually hired just picked from a group of posters that post a lot and are elder, and if a mod steps down they can pick another one or like at GB they had a poll. An administator doesn't create the games but a few did create the site pre merger

You get to become a moderator if you post often and obey the forum rules. But they don't pick new ones often.
