View Full Version : Secret: Use 1 Ammo While Homing

I was playing JK II the other day and made an awesome discovery. You can only use 1 rocket instead of 2 when homing someone. It's simple! Hold down secondary and lock on to the target. When the circle is full, quickly switch back to saber. The target will still be locked. Change to rocket and use primary fire to finish it off.
Any thoughts?

all the good players know it, but don't use it...

now we'll have all the not-so-good players using it... thanks...

not to mention, you can turn the opposite direction and the rocket will still home in on them. (ie, rocket shoots out the launcher, magically turns around, magically shoots right through you not even harming you, and continues to home it's target)

but dont tell anyone

the problem is, its one exploit which can be made even easier through scripting :(

Everyone knows this one already.

I didn't. :nut:

Then again, I can't say I've put too much study into the use of the Rocket Launcher.

:gben: (http://richdiesal.jedioutcastmaps.com/tutorials/) The Force will be with you, always.

Man, where do you guys play? Stand around that long where I play and you will be evaporated.

Seems like alot of work to save 1 rocket.

But I will try it out :)

Hahahah rofl. Good one Rp.

Yea and I don't know where you guys play but on the Cardassia server you wouldn't survive even while moving trying to do that.

ermm why not? Its more effective than a regular rocket shot in every way. There is NO disadvantage to doing it, that's why I consider it cheap and don't use it.

DeTRiTiC-iQ have you ever played on the Cardassia Server? They have some of the most amazing snipers that play there on that server. Your rocket would be pushed and you would be vaporized in about 3 seconds.

actually i play on the cardassia server all the time and whenever i get the chance i always use the trick. the entire point is you have to have your saber bound to a button and the rocket launcher bound to a button. there is no 'standing still' involved. you simply strafe around and hold right click until you get a partial circle then you switch back and forth and left click and blam instant kill. the rockets travel at the same speed as a normal one and are more maneuverable with the added effect of homing = you're dead unless someone pushes it.

Oddly enough I haven't played on one of the laggiest servers in my ASE list, I prefer CTF, and on the odd occasion that I play FFA I generally choose the populated server with the lowest ping.

Having said that, what has the skill of the enemy at using force push got to do with anything? The first rule of using rockets is to do it from an angle which makes pushing difficult.

The idea is that this trick makes the rockets MORE effective against EVERYONE, it may not work everytime against perceptive players, but over the period of a game your frag count is bound to be signficantly higher.

Ah I get it now. :D But I still don't think I would use it. :D

I hardly ever use it, I mainly use it 1v1 guns when someone stops to talk and I lock on and then they come out of talking and I shoot.
