Im just curious what people think or hope or even possibly know on the subject. I remember that Lucas in the 80's said that he would not be making anymore star wars movies after return of the jedi but about 5 years later he changed his mind and most of us became aware of the future prequels. After he finishes the final installment to the prequels do you think Georgie will take on a future installement of starwars? Id would really like to see a continuation of Luke or maybe see the stories of Kyle Kartarn. If you believe that Lucas is done with star wars movies do you think he will sign the licensing over to someone else who may pick up the ball 20 or 30 years from now? Im just not satisfied lol. I want to hear more stories. When i watch star trek im satisfied because i got to enjoy so many adventures. In star wars i love what i see but i want more. For example in Episode 2, both Annikan and Obi-wan are talking in the elevator about a little adventure they were on. I dont want to hear about it i want to see it. Or when Obi-wan goes to find "his missing planet" he meets up with those really tall species that talk about a clone army they have built for some jedi who had died almost 10 years ago. Well....i want to know how he died...whats the story to that one. You see what i mean? Ive very interested in seeing future installments to one of the greatest series of movies. Does anyone know anything? Or have an opinion? Or have something to say about this?

P.S. I really think that Lucas should redo the entire Episode 1 movie.

:p :p :p :p

no, helll be too old...doesnt direct the greatest stuff (it could have been done better, ep 1 and 2)

if you are such a star wars fan that you would beg to have 3 more movies...just sit back and relax and read all the novels, there are literally HUNDREDS

He won't. As long as he's alive, I doubt there will be as well.

But who knows. EU is good enough to carry on SW IMO. I love the EU.

I dont know how many times this has been dicussed over at Star Wars...! Well, I still dont think that he'll do another one.
I have to agree with those who think EU is good enough to carry SW, and that SW will be in text in the nearest future.

BTW I wanna start reading EU books, any1 who has some suggestions on where to start?

The Thrawn Trilogy, Clemme. It is superb.

Then the X-Wing books, the NJO is OK (have only read 2 of them so far...)

Then the Dark Forces trilogy! All about Kyle da man.

And a Clone Wars cartoon does appeal to me. Linkage please.

the clone wars cartoon was mentioned in the british magazine SFX, apparently lucas/his companies have said that episode 3 will begin with the last battle of the clone wars, so, as compensation for us missing out on the clone wars there will be a clone wars cartoon, clone wars-set novels and comics and probably more games too...

The only thing that ive heard so far is that in 2006 lucas is suppose to release the original trilogy (episodes 4,5,6) in dvd format with all the extras and blahblahblah. But with that was apparently a butt-load of extra scenes that they are going to make into a forth movie called episode 4a. Apparently in the orginal film they had a rogue jawa story that was going on during the first film. Due to size they cut it out. I guess this "jawa" story was over an hour long of different footage. Lucas says he will release extra camera angles of the first film along with it to make it an entire new movie. So its not a new film but its new to us. ....too bad...i would really love to see a film done of kyle katarn. I also found out more info. Lucas said that it would take him another 10 years to do another trilogy so hes saying he doesnt want to and as far as releasing the license to allow others to build on the star wars film, he said and i quote "probably not." Also another thing i will mention about the "episode 4a" is that Lucas said the main reason he wants to add this load of unscene footage to the dvd set is because he "felt he didnt make enough money out of a great idea." Sick...honest...but sick.

Dark Forces movie starring Jason Court, the dude from JK cutscenes. I had to whip my manual out for that one... :D

And Gorc, as himself. :p

I personally hope Lucas doesn't, unless he gets another director, cause he's really not good at all.

Yeah, honest, but kinda sick. We all know that money has a big role in filmaking today. Most films that are continued into a 2nd and 3rd movie is only mad for one reaseon. MONEY! So with that out of the, I cant wait for the DVD release of the Original Trilogy!!

me too...you just cant beat the original trilogy. Sometimes its just plain upsetting to see characters in the new films that are all Computer graphics. So far i think count dooku has been the only real refreshing addition to the starwars movie screen.

Hey Clemme, If I can add a suggestion. Don't start halfway through the books, start from the very beginning at "The Truce at Bakura" its better that way. :D

Ok but it makes it easier to understand (in my opinion) if you start from the beginning. :D

And George won't make anymore Star Wars movies but someone else might.

well if you want to start at the beginning technically you should start with drth maul: shadow hunter... and there's the jedi apprentice books too... then rogue planet, the approaching storm, the han solo trilogy, the han solo series, the lando calrissian series, splinter of the mind's eye and tales of the mos eisley cantina and shadows of the empire, tales of the bounty hunters and tales from jabba's palace...

NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN NNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

God damn that stupid flaming twat!

That is SUCH a bad idea....

The only place where any episode should be slipped in is between EpV & EpVI (Yes, I do mean SOTE. I just added so much depth to the continum & characters, and had some great sequences.)

I hope this never comes to pass....

And now, I can see my self boycotting the DVD release.

HELL! I'm tempted to get the original VCDs and rip them onto DVD - now THEY would sell!

Be worth the law suit to see the look on Georges face when my home made Original Release DVDs out strip his Special Extended Epsiode Added Edition by 10 to 1!

There is no way in hell. After all the backlash he has had? Why should he? This is the end of Star Wars. Hopefully he has better luck with the next project he takes on.

With the money he has made from SW, ILM, THX and Skywalker Sound, he has no need to continue to do more SW movies. He stated in a TV interview, that whilst he said it would be the last ones made whilst he was still alive, it wont stop his children from doing more once he is gone ( I am sure once Ep 3 is done we can organise a mob hit!! ).

He is going off to satisfy his creative urges by doing things that no film studio would even try to finance, his companies make enough for him to be able to do it. Some may be direct to TV stuff, others may never make it out of the Skywalker Ranch.

For someone who bankrolls all his own films, who are we to complain if he does them the way he sees fit, or stops them when he feels he is done with them.
He doesn't have to answer to News Ltd in regards to anything about SW (They now only distribute the movies), unlike LOTR and the need for New Line to be pleased with it in the end.

BTW I will believe what will be on the OT DVD's when I see an official announcement from Lucasfilm, and will not play into what will and wont be included. Only thing I will enter into will be the bet that it will be in October 2007 (I think 24th or 26th to the day) on the 30th Anniversary of SW when they will be released in their final form, with all the add on bits he wants on the movies and the DVD's...

Well yea but some of those are VERY hard to find and I found the Han Solo trilogy pretty boring. Also, the Tales of the Bounty Hunters and all those are just little short stories. :D Just start anywhere you want Clemme. :D

I would rather see a trilogy of films made about the Monkey Island games rather than a Star wars one.

The Idea of an old guy teaching some young annoying people how to use the force is a bit scary. Im not sure if this does happen, just a guess.

A Grim Fandango film would be cool aswell, if you dont know what grim fandango is check my avatar, and my sig to be:

http://members.lycos.co.uk/lostwelshman/hpbimg/Fandango%20copy.jpg

Basicly the Lucas Game, Grim Fandango is about the after life, a guy, Manny Calavera is stuck working off the bad things he did in life. Hes not a bad guy though. He has to sell the best afterlife package that he can to the customers, depending on how good they were in their past life. If they were really good they got a ticket on The 'No 9' express train to the land of eternal rest.

Mannys Co-Worker, The one with the siyth(SP) in my sig, and his boss are selling tickets to people who dont deserve them, who get whats coming to them.

The game is really good with a great storyline, a must for adventure game lovers.

Is there a forum for Grim Fandango, wait a minute, ive gone off topic.

There wont be a third trilogy, hey, a trilogy of trilogies. Not directed by George Lucas anyway, in my opinion.

I love SW, but GL lost his touch. He just doesn't write the way he did in the original 3. Maybe it's because hes aged, matured, and his style has changed. Now, I don't know why, but this thought always creeps into my head when I watch the first 3 and the 2 most recent: GL did not write both series. I believe that he had help writing the first 3 and most likely bought out the other writer or had him zipped up in a bizarre contract that kept the other person(s) quiet.

I don't know, but he SHOULD let someone else take the series over, maybe his kids will let someone do it after GL is dead. There is so much material there, it would be a shame to 'waste' it all.

As for the original question, GL won't make any more. To old.

HBK in case you failled to notice, lucas had help writing ESB and ROTJ and he also had help writing AOTC. leigh brackett and lawrence kasdan wrote ESB (some say this is why ESB is the best...), lawrence kasdan also co-wrote ROTJ and jonathon hales co-wrote AOTC...

When HBK was talking about writing in the scripts that made me want to address something that im curious if you guys feel the sameway. I really did enjoy epidsode 2. I thought it was pretty good the acting was really sketchy surprisingly enough because natalie portman has done some dynamic roles. But anyhoo...when i listen to the words that the characters speak they all seem to have the same personality. Nothing really sets them that far apart. YOu know how some writers are good at giving certain characters personality traits that make them stand out in comparison? Well its just seems that the writers involved didnt care about character development. They seemed more conecentrated on obi-wan and annikan. I dont know maybe its just me. There are some more silly things to me that bug me about the film. LIke when obiwan cant find the planet in the jedi archives so he goes to consult yoda and yoda asks for an answer from one of the kids he's training. Just seems silly. Seems to me that was an obvious guess that even obi-wans character should have been able to get. Just little things like that bug me. As for episode one i cant even begin. TO me everything was wrong with that one.
As far as the "heat" that Lucas has gotten over the new trilogy i think some people forget that he got a lot of "hate" mail as well for empire strikes back because of how it ended. I never hear anyone mention that. But i think no matter what there is going to be complaints about something because so many of us are passionate about an idea that lucas had. So really Lucas did a great job in giving as a fantasy thats truly original. I just wish he could keep making the films regardless of flaws or bad judgement. I guess ill start looking at these books you guys keep mentioning. Im into comic books so i think ill start with dark horse first.
lol this reminds me of batman. Man o Man the first two films with micheal keaton as batman were great...but then suddenly the movies started to stink real bad when the brough in robin, val kilmer, alicia silverstone, and georgieeeee cloony.....ick....when that happened i turned to Legends of the dark knight comic book...and its done pretty well to fix the mistakes of tim burton.
