Have you tried contacting your internet service provider about this?

Well I think its supposed to happen....but is there a program or something that changes the address that I connect to my ISP every so often??

It is more likely than not that the ISP has a limit set for each connection, once that time is up it will disconnect. Not much you can do about it really.... Other than change ISP's

If it's NTL, the 'stay-connected' software I've tried doesn't work. If I remember correctly, they also disconnect you if you're idle for 10 minutes. They're broadband isn't that greater either. :p

It's standard practice for most 56k ISP's I'm afraid and there is nothing you can do about it except get Broadband which stays connected. :D

well I have no trouble with NTLs broadband, but then I only pay £4.99 a month for it as part of my student package so it maybe that I just don't expect as much from it as some of you do.
good luck getting it sorted

My 56k is fine staying connected. The only problems I have in that area is if someone picks up the phone.

Happy 5000th post! :)

Really? Curious My 56k can only stay on for 8 hours max :( (sometimes less). Although that may seem like a long time, it is nothing! I stay on the internet for far longer than 8 hours, and it is really anoying to have a d/l interuted or a post interupted  What's you ISP?
