Different Lists??

I live in Alberta. My friend lives in Ontario. We are able to play the same people online but cannot play each other. Is there an explanation or a fix?? Our settings are exactly the same?

By which means do u try to play one another? p2p, on a hosted server, or by running a server on the same computer? :confused:
