View Full Version : Well.....the war has begun

Like it or not, the war has begun with Iraq. I'm not such a big fan of it......but we do need to get Saddam Hussein out of power. That's the bottom line...he has been nothing but trouble ever since he was named leader of Iraq.

I just hope there aren't too many casualities. :( I hope it ends quickly and I hope there isn't too much damage that can be done here in the states by some terrorists.

Perhaps they gave been anyway, but the fact is... We have been interfering which makes them peeved in the first place.

True, they all really hate Isreal and we have this huge support of Isreal.

Anyways, from what I understand now......they haven't even sent out a full scale force yet. They've just been sending the cruise missiles to Baghdad to try to take out Saddam and others before they have to send in the troops. Kind of like trying to end the war before it really begins.

Wishful thinking IMO....

Just a quick rule:
This is no fun situation for anyone, and no matter where your allegiances stand, any extreme statements of whatever kind will be immeaditely dealt with.

dark jedi 8

what do you mean by extreme?
anyway, i hope it is over soon, no need for a loss of life. i think that we have only sent missles over, and the news is showing that there have allready been cavilian injuries. absolutely no need for that.

Extreme as in "Bomb them all", or "All Americans are muderderes".

Statements of such coleur will be punished.

Well, well! Glad to hear all that BS will be dealt with already. :) I can already see debates about the war go on and on already....

Yes, I'd would just like a nice discussion about it rather then people forcing their views on everyone else.

Of course, that's how I feel about all 'serious' topics such as these.

Hey, Dark Jedi 8, there are always civilian casualties...

An unfortunate fact of war.

I just got this email from CNN Breaking News:

--U.S. Marine CH-46 helicopter crashes in Kuwait killing all 16 Marines and British troops aboard.

:(

How tragic, very, very tragic.

i think it was today, but there was the first casualty of war, besides the helicopter crash, 1 u.s. marine was killed in action during a ground assult. :(

Notion

Make that 2, and one injured.

And the missiles fired on Iraq weren't wishful thinking necessarily, they were a result of very recent intelligence that the US had to take advantage of. Rumors last I heard were that Saddam may have been injured. (An unusual and abrupt call for medical care).

Who cares how much it costs, who cares how many people will hate us. We are putting the world's biggest threat to silence, and we can thank God that Bush has balls.

A threat to his people and surrounding countries perhaps, but not us what so ever.... Not directly anyways. And yes, it does matter how many people will hate us, Iraqi people included and such...

Just to think, I saw a family blaming Bush for his son being dead. I think one of them was an only child....

Actually, if you can believe it, I heard it was a US soldier that did it. I think he was supposed to stand guard and he just went crazy.

Pretty sick isn't it?

Actually, it was a soldier from 101st division who was Muslim I believe, so you can tell he was against the war anyways. There were 3-4 grenades thrown, 15 injured and one dead.... So he's in serious trouble! Such treachery, but enough fuel!

Yes it's true! The Patriot accidently shot down a GR4 aircraft and it's under investagation now.

Well, you can tell I've been abit up todate with the coverage thus far without school! :)

Looks like there are many differing reports. Wouldn't know which to believe.

Don't assume because someone's Muslim they are against the war. Iraqi's over here protested for the war. And one of my Muslim friends wouldn't mind if it had UN backing.

Do you know any Muslims? Like are friends with any?

I didn't judge muslims as a whole being against the war and I wasn't sure about the race... I try not to use racism and from what I heard about the guy, I could tell he was against the war as he had been trouble in the past (forget the actions)... Again, I think he was muslim, so I would have to look back. As for being friends with a muslim, I was for a while. Didn't even know until I found out he didn't celebrate christmas , but I have lost communication (I guess I could say that  ) long ago. Of course it's online, so I guess it could be alittle different.

But back to the war, I've heard reports of an Apache chopper down which is true. Iraqi's claim they took down two and have two pilots held! Yeesh, never thought I would keep up with coverage on the war!

It'll be tougher than I imaged to get there now with the tactics the Republic Guard are using at this time, but it won't stop us from getting to Baghdad either.. Hopefully the General captured currently will side with us alittle. ;)

I heard reports from last night saying that the Republican Guard will most likely use chemical weapons. Or at least Iraq will once the coalition forces get closer to Baghdad. :( :(

If they have them that is, but it sounds like they could or...... This could be just a bluff by them to make us scared! They didn't use them in the last war, but who knows about this war. I guess they'll cross that bridge when they come to it.
