View Full Version : How do you think they should make the next Star Wars game?

Assuming you’ve played all of the ones that have already been out, what would you have changed about any of them? Or is there a game concept that they haven’t done yet that you think they should have, like a new game about Han and Chewie, or something?

didn't you start this thread in the star wars forums?

I have GOT to rent Monkey Island soon. I don't know what the SCUMM game engine is because I haven't played any of the titles that Skate boy mentioned in that other thread.
Yes, Dark Jedi, I too love Lucas and Spielberg movies, especially Star Wars and Raiders of the Lost Ark (my two favorite movies of all time) AND I love gaming and am the proud owner of all three game consoles... so, the chances of me wanting to start a topic about Indiana Jones games and / or Star Wars games in more than one of these forums is pretty good, wouldn't you say? :D
Sega should. :D
Just think of Obi and Qui-Gon Sonic-style. ;)

I want to see a Jedi game that plays like Splinter Cell. I was pretty impressed with the Obi Wan game - it plays and looks really nice, but Splinter Cell controls give you more of that "I AM this character" feel to them, rather than just watching the character and trying to get a hang of tricky controls. Plus, I feel like a Jedi is a lot like an enlightened ninja. It would be cool to have a game where you're almost like Sam Fisher from Splinter Cell, only with a lightsaber! BTW, if you're a PS2 or GC owner, you might be glad to know that Splinter Cell comes out for those consoles this week (http://www.splintercell.com/us) - I already have it for XBOX, but I still thought that was pretty good news.

There are far too many Star Wars games about the "wonderful Jedi Knights" or the "brave Rebellion members" out there. Alright, we've just had Star Wars - Bounty Hunter to play around with, but why not take it to the next level?
Star Wars - Dark Lords of the Sith could be a massive third-person action/adventure with the player taking control of four different characters: Darth Maul, Darth Tyranus (Count Dooku), Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine. Your task is to eliminate Jedi Knights, start galactical conflicts and hunt puny Rebellion members, using as much evil as possible. Your Force powers will include Lightning, Destruction, Grip and Throw, and your trusty lightsaber will be your primary weapon. Several misisons could be given over to a Star Wars - Starfighter-style combat system, taking command of your TIE Fighter/Sith Infiltrator/Geonosian Solar Sailor, with objectives ranging from attack to stealthy incursions. Plus, while on foot, you could use Probe Droids to spy around the level and tools such as Speeder Bikes to manuever through more tricky enviroments. Boss characters could include such people as Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, Mace Windu and Luke Skywalker, and some missions could even see you capturing important figures like Senator Amidala or Princess Leia. The game should span worlds like Coruscant, Naboo, Geonosis and maybe even a Death Star, and the opportunities for exploration should be double that of previous, similar titles. The further you progress through the game, the better your skills get, and the further you can Force Jump, or the more power their is behind your Force Lightning.
Forget Force Persuasion on those dopy guards.
You are a Dark Lord of the Sith.
Use your lightsaber instead.
Star Wars - Dark Lords of the Sith. Are you listening, LucasArts?

There are so many I would love to see:
1) A new X-Wing series game
2) A game dedicated to the Sith
3) A game where you play as a Pre ANH Han with Chewie and the Falcon and all the cool characters from the Han Solo Trilogy and Adventures of Han Solo Trilogy.
4) Star Wars meet MI, as Skate and I were discussing.
5) Playing as NRI special forces in a Splinter Cell style game (NRI agent rather than Jedi IMO, but both could be made to work)
6) Something against the Vong.
7) A set of mission pack for JK* for the Solo kids.
8) And as I have been saying for years, and seconded here by Gonk - Rebellion / Supremecy 2.
9) SW meets Battle Commander II (It had some GREAT ideas. A few bugs given, but imagine going from gound pounder to AT-AT pilot. Rebel trooper to Speeder Pilot)
Short of LucasArts employing everyone from LFN and training them and letting them loose, it aint gonna happen!
Most likely from above are:
2) Being able to be a Dark-sider is a big thing these days, so can see that maybe occuring soon.
And thats it! Shame, but reality screams thats what will happen. But of them all, if they said - 'You got one choice, what do you want...', then what would you choose....
I cant make up my mind between 1, 4, 8 or 9.

A perfect game? SW: Dawning. Check my sig.
Hmmm... a new X-Wing game. A game using the Stars! Supernova Genesis (http://www.crisium.com) engine would be nice too.
And this is something I've been pondering: What about a SWAT-style game where you're a stormtrooper and your objective is to work in a squad and capture corvettes/freighters, ambush bases, secure hideouts in cities, and so on. About same engine as the SWAT 3 game, and give it some nice cutscene and a good story.
Also, give us a GOOD RTS game.
All in all, LEC isn't producing the games it used to produce. Remember the atmosphere of TIE Fighter? The lines to end all lines ("Alpha 2, are you having difficulties? Return NOW.")
