View Full Version : WIP: Theed funeral grounds
04-15-2003, 02:59 PM
This is going to be my first real map. I'm guessing you all know what the Theed funeral grounds are, but in case you don't, check out SW:EP1 where Qui Gon was cremated, that's the structure I am going to make. It's only around 5% completion, and I am welcome for any suggestions or layouts( would be much appreciated).

Well, as you can see I am far from finished, but I think it is a good start.
This is the pillar on the right side at the beginning of the funeral grounds. There will then be a bridge connecting the pillar the the main dome room where the cremation takes place.

I kind of have to see it when you have more donw before I can comment on it: a pillar and a box aren't much to talk about. But good luck ::D

I know there is not much to see, unfortunately I think I chose to make this map at the wrong time. I am in my senior year in high school, and I have finals right around the corner. I really have not had a lot of time to be working on my map due to all the damn work. But, that's life I guess. I will try and have updated screenshots posted ASAP.

Well, I only have one more day of school as of 5/11/03. I should have this map done within the next two weeks, and I will have some screenshots posted as well.

If you need any help, Jorus... you know how to reach me. ;)
Can't wait to see what you come up with. :D

I really appreciate the offer of help. I think that I will be all right, but I will be sure to let you know if I need anything. I have just completed the bridge part to my map, I will try and have a screenshot of it posted. I've just been real busy because I'm going to college in August, so I have to deal with all of that crap. But in simple terms, the map is coming along fairly well, and I expect it to be done within the week.

College is fun.
Yeah, get some shots up, let's see what this map actually LOOKS like.

Anymore updates I never saw a SS But I think a Funeral place would be so awesome to play in :D.

Just thought I'd let you all see what I am going to make. Also, I have begun beta testing my map. I am expecting it to be fully complete in the next week, It's just taking forever becasue of detail.

I know it....

As an idea, Jorus, you could take the Skyshader from DOTF2, load the images into photoshop, then darken them up to a night-time lighting. It' WOULD be a bright looking moon, but...
Just a thought... and if you want to follow up on it, Yes, you have the permission you need. :)

Thank you, thank you....
*bows* I really appreciate it Shadriss :)

Due to a pain in the ass...Aru-Wen (Eldritch) is going ot be doing the Dome part of my map. Just thought I'd post that as a reminder.
05-27-2003, 02:28 AM
are you gonna do the other dome and the waterfall? that would be nice, after all there is a falls texture. its not quite blue though...
05-27-2003, 01:45 PM
Just to avoid confusion, Jorus... i'm Eldritch on these forums.
I only use Aru-Wen as my clan name now. :)
05-27-2003, 06:56 PM
I don't even remember the first name I saw you under - why do you change so much?
05-27-2003, 10:53 PM
Yes I know that Aru..That's why I said "Aru-Wen" (Eldritch).
As to your question regarding the other dome and the water and waterfall, yes, I am planning to have the other dome in place and add water. However, I am still questioning whether to place a waterfall in the map, but for the sake of realism, I most likely will.
Here are some updated screenshots of the bridge. I am going to work on the landscape and the river tonight, and should have more updated screenshots of Radiant. If possible, I will post some in-game screenshots as well..
(Sorry for the mishap..I accidentely deleted those images, so here you are)

You know, the pics don't work. Not just that Tripod doesn't allow outside linking, but I couldn't find the pics by copying the links themselves. Are you sure you named those pics Image1.txt, Image2.txt and Image3.txt? I can't even find them with jpg extension, nor tga.
05-28-2003, 01:06 PM
They were working for me about 12 hours ago...maybe you hit your bandwidth limit.
05-29-2003, 10:05 PM
Check the original post that contained the screenshots. I have fixed the issue (I deleted the images ;) ) So there are now screenshots posted on the original thread.

I realize that It has been a while since my last update, but my life has been fairly busy in the last 2 months. Here is some eye candy for you guys..I know that it's just a box in the middle of the sky, so I would appreciate any ideas for a landscape. Eldritch and I have about decided to have the funeral grounds placed on a cliff, with a waterfall ( That will most likely lead to your death if you jump over it ). But I am still open for any suggestions. Note: Architecture of the dome was done by Eldritch, and the textures on the dome and bridge were made by him.
06-20-2003, 12:00 AM
I'd just like to make a small correction... some of the bridge textures, one (I think) dome texture, but most of the textures on the tower were by me.
Make sure you get with me next time you're on MSN, Jorus.
