I haven't seen the film yet, but it looks bloody good, so I'll rent it out sooner or later:)I don't want the film plot ruined for me or anything, but (to those who have seen it) how would you rate it? Is it better than the other 2 films, in your opinion? I personally thought Silence of the Lambs was great, although Hannibal was a damn good film in it's own right.

No, I won't be renting it. I saw Silence of the Lambs, and it was okay, but not a favourite film. I saw a picture of Hannibal where someone's head was open...and it just turned my stomach so I never bothered watching it. I won't watch this either.
And before you call me a sissy - I've watched a lot of gory films in my time, from Day Of The Dead to Hellraiser 2 to Body Count and too many others to mention. I think I must just have grossed out on gory horror and it no longer has any interest for me. :)
Apart from American Werewolf in London and maybe John Carpenter's Vampires...that's about my gore-tolerance threshold these days...

I saw it, and I thought it was awesome. I really love all the Mr. Lecter films, and the books are great too.
Red Dragon was much better than Hannibal, IMO, mainly because Julianne Moore couldn't fill in the shoes of the amazing Jodie Foster, in Silence of the Lambs.
Ed Norton did a fantastic job as the dectective, and had some really cool scenes. He is a really good actor.
Anthony Hopkins was amazing as usual, perfectly handling the role of the insane Hannibal Lecter. He did not get as much screen time as the first 2 movies, but a lot of light is shed on his "early years".
I enjoyed the "villan" in this film. He truly was a mysterious character for most of the film until his identity was out in the open. The actor that played him did a really good job, making him look as creepy as ever, especially with his obsession over that painting, plus his tatooes were just freaky.
This was a good movie, probably the second best Hannibal film, right after Silence of the lambs, and before Hannibal.

Red Dragon is awesome. It's not TOO bloody like Hannibal, but it's as suspenseful as Silence of the Lambs. I really liked Silence, but I think the villain in Red Dragon was alot cooler than Buffalo Bill. If you disagree, let's compare. Red Dragon's sig is biting people with really creepy teeth. Buffalo Bill's sig is taking skin off his victims. Bill seems to be transexual while Red Dragon got it on with the blind chick.
Buffalo Bill's fav line: "It puts the lotion on its skin, or it gets the hose again."
The Red Dragon's fav line: "I am the Dragon, before me you tremble..." (I got that line from the trailer)
Bill hides in some lady's house to redirect detectives. Red Dragon fakes his own death to redirect detectives. Both get killed with bullets. I still think the Red Dragon is waaay cooler.
Ah, I'm going to have to check this out.....I have yet to see it. Thanks for the info. :)
