Commentary on the Sith Resurrection Series: Andirrul

Posted 07-13-2009 at 08:35 PM by Alkonium
At the end of Part V, my intention was always to have Virul take over Andorra, but before Tysyacha returned to the role of Andorra, my plan for what would happen afterward was that Virul would be the dominant one, and retain his identity, but Andorra would over the year between Parts V and VI, pick away at Virul's mind, driving him insane, eventually, through Kalla's help, destroying his spirit completely. Though, Tysyacha's approach is much more original. Without further ado, here's what Tysyacha,...

Commentary on the Sith Resurrection Series: The Setting

One thing I think really helps my RP Series stand out is the setting. What I try to do is make undeniably Star Wars, but different from any real era in Star Wars canon. Part of this is that while it takes place well after everything published, except for the Legacy comics, it's actually meant to be an alternate timeline, deviating from established canon at the start of the Legacy Era. Though I haven't really read those books, I think my stance is that the events of LotF still happened in my alternate...

Morals vs. Ethics

Posted 07-13-2009 at 11:23 AM by Alkonium
I had recently watched a good portion of A Clockwork Orange, and after the scene in which
spoiler:
Alex is conditioned to act morally or become violently ill at the thought of doing otherwise
I thought about how morals and ethics don't always go hand in hand. Though the treatment results in him acting morally, which makes it a moral act, it strips him of his free will, making it also unethical. Having recently written The Dantooine Mission, which features an appearance by two Death Guards, which is something I had previously referenced in Part III of the RP series without much elaboration, I decided to go into more detail, and possibly have them appear in Part V.

The only details I've currently given on them are that they are Elite Stormtroopers who answer directly to Darth Mortis, they always work in pairs, and they're something every Jedi would be wise to fear.

Commentary on the Sith Resurrection Series: Andorra

It's been a while, but here goes...

It seems that in each RP, a character gets introduced well into the story, doesn't really appear prominent, and then they become a major character in the next one. For Parts IV and V, that character was Andorra Evenstar. In a lot of ways, she was an experimental character for me. Though she's a lesbian, that in itself wasn't much of an experiment, as I had shown LGBT characters before, and had at least RPed a bit of every other type of relationship...
