Morals vs. Ethics

Posted 07-13-2009 at 11:23 AM by Alkonium
I had recently watched a good portion of A Clockwork Orange, and after the scene in which
spoiler:
Alex is conditioned to act morally or become violently ill at the thought of doing otherwise
I thought about how morals and ethics don't always go hand in hand. Though the treatment results in him acting morally, which makes it a moral act, it strips him of his free will, making it also unethical. If it is morally right, but ethically wrong, is it right, or is it wrong. To answer that, one must decide whether...

It is not so simple as figuring out how to travel backwards and forwards in time, but in order to be sure you're able to return to the same present that you left from, we'd also have to figure out how to travel "sideways" in time. Of course, if you think of time as just being a simple straight line, then in a sense, there are no parallel universes and altering timelines is impossible. However, if one were to...
