I got online a few minutes ago and what do I see? A headline that Katherine Hepburn is dead. I'm really kind of bummed.

I only heard about a couple of hours ago myself. Man, the last few years... Sinatra, Jack Lemmon, Bob Hope - old-school icons disappearing left and right. In the back of your mind you know they're human beings as frail as any other, but when they do eventually go it's like a sudden sharp slap in the face.

Really makes you think, eh? Life is short.

Mickey Rooney, however, is immortal.

And short. Very short.

What, Jack Lemmon is dead? When did this happen? A shame actually, I really liked his movies.

Ages ago, man. July 27 of 2001, to be precise. Long-time friend Walter Matthau went not long before him, somtime around mid 2000 I think.

Seems like I should watch the news a bit more.;)

Did you guys hear about it yet? Looks like we can add Barry White to the list as well. Man, what a bummer.

He started out as a dancer and went into movies. He was going to be the Tin Man in The Wizard of Oz but the makeup nearly killed him. Eventually he went into television. He's best known for The Beverly Hillbillies and Barnaby Jones.

A few months ago, Robert Stack, as well. Awwwwwwww........

It's a bad summer for celebrities. They're really dropping like flies.
