Preorder from EBGAMES

Hey all,
If you've got the time, preorder the sam n max game from EBGAMES - they still are clueless about the cancellation as are most people. sigh.

lagamorph321 03-10-2004 04:51 AM

EBGAMES preorder policy

Oh yeah and this is their preorder policy:

Pre-orders

Your credit card will be charged only when your order is processed. Sometimes, we will process your order one to five days before the release of the product. This allows us to get the product to you faster.

Orders containing combinations of pre-order items and in stock merchandise will be broken into separate orders. Each of the separate orders will ship as soon as the merchandise becomes available. Shipping charges will apply to each of the orders independently.

From time to time the manufacturers will limit the amount of a product based on their supply. If this happens, we will process the online orders in the order in which they were received.

In an effort to ship pre-orders as quickly as possible, sometimes we use a third party distributor to drop ship the merchandise directly to you. This allows us to eliminate the time it takes to ship product to our warehouse and receive it before shipping it out to you. Due to the tight time constraints required by this accelerated shipping method, some orders will not make it into our drop ship process. Those orders are shipped directly from our warehouse usually no more than one day after the drop shipment.

Some of the order types that will typically miss our drop ship process are:

- Pre-orders received by us too close to the release date. Cut-off dates are normally three or four days in advance of the ship date.

- International orders.

- P.O. Box and APO/FPO.

- Pre-orders that fail our credit authorization process.

From time to time, EBgames.com will offer a special promotional item with a pre-order. Due to limited availability, these promotions can only be offered while supplies last.

Skinkie 03-10-2004 05:06 AM

...Why would we order it if it's been cancelled? Maybe I'm missing something.

SyntheticGerbil 03-10-2004 05:44 AM

DOn't do that. I think all of their rotten money comes from preorders anyways. Then their nasty managers get their disgusting promotion and buy LAN parties or something.

BlueRockman 03-10-2004 07:38 AM

Unless they know something we don't, there's absolutely no point in pre-ordering a cancelled game.

For the time being, the fight must continue on, until we see from LucasArts themselves that the game is going to hit the store shelves. Only then will I renew my now-cancelled pre-order on Sam and Max: Freelance Police.

Hmmmmm.... we should send someone to spy on EBGames....

lagamorph321 03-10-2004 07:58 AM

Why Pre-Order a cancelled game?

Hey all,
I see supposedly 10000 plus sigs on the pettitions to save Sam and Max Freelance police. Wouldn't a few thousand preorders at EBGAMES be a little more convincing? I could 'sign' the pettitions 10000 times myself, but who's gonna preorder Freelance police more than 1 or 2 times at EBGAMES? Maybe lucasarts will get a call from EBGAMES, maybe not.

I know it's a long shot, but what other great ideas do people have to get lucasarts's attention? Oh well, sigh. I guess I'll write some more letters to pr@lucasarts.com.

Keep the interest up.

Live Undead 03-10-2004 10:29 AM

Try and get as many websites as possible to push the name of LucasArts in the mud. Persuade them to mention how far up their ass they are.

Sam&Max4ever 03-10-2004 10:49 AM

I can see where you are going, maybe if we all pre-order the game, EB games will discover how many money they will loose and then start a silent protest, maybe even contact LA..Its worth a shot :)

psbales 03-10-2004 11:41 AM

Just ordered mine. Remember folks, if there's one (and most likely only) thing that LucasArts understands nowadays, its money. If they see that there's thousands of pre-orders, they *will* understand that "current market place realities and underlying economic considerations" just might be favorable to a highly anticipated graphic adventure game after all.

In short: Go pre-order now!!!!

PS - To put it another way, an agreement by Paul Balestrieri to give money to EBGames is a heck of a lot better and more convincing than 100 "h4X0r 4 L1f3"'s signing an online petition.

Brushguy 03-10-2004 01:05 PM

This is a long shot...but it might work!

GO PRE-ORDER SAM AND MAX: FREELANCE POLICE! CONVINCE LUCASARTS THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO WILL BUY IT!

I remember one magazine had "Super Mario 64 2" or pre-order FOREVER, way back in 1997 even, and it had a fake cut and pasted screenshot of Mario and Luigi on the last level on SM64 to fool you. It also had the Conker game on pre-order, before they turned it into something else...

lagamorph321 03-10-2004 06:57 PM

Do it if you can.

Thanks for the few positive responses. If we get enough responses, maybe a gaming site will write up a story. They definitely have more weight that a rabid fan like me. 100 + looks - made you look! hee hee.

feel free to email me with any Sam N Max 2 stuff - lagamorph321@yahoo.com

SyntheticGerbil 03-10-2004 07:40 PM

You guys is stoopid.

This is not going to directly affect LucasARts. This is only helping EBGames and Gamestop or whatever. They make a killing off of preorders and holding your money. I'm sure the longer they can hold it without telling you anything is the longer they can do devious, sexual things with your dirty cash.

psbales 03-10-2004 10:37 PM

SyntheticGerbil,

I don't normally feed the troll, but I'll make an excption just this one time, since what you said is blatantly false and I don't want any confusion.

From http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/help/products/preOrders.asp :

Pre-orders

Your credit card will be charged only when your order is processed.

If Sam and Max doesn't ship, you never pay. EBGames does not hold any of your money.

Period.

steveistops 03-10-2004 11:40 PM

i placed my order.

lagamorph321 03-11-2004 12:32 AM

Thanks

Steve really is tops! Another preorder sighting! Yaaa. Email pr@lucasarts.com and give them a piece of your mind, again.

Darkhelm 03-11-2004 01:19 AM

Ok, pre-order placed. I now have 5 percent more hope this is going to be released, that's the major reason I pre-ordered: I don't want to give up hope that LEC will come back to their senses! :(

lagamorph321 03-11-2004 01:27 AM

Sweet

That makes one more. thanks! keep the preorders going. Sam and Max fans, quietly order one for yourself and one for your brother or sister or coworker. :D

SyntheticGerbil 03-11-2004 02:19 AM

Well okay, maybe I'm wrong. It's funny they would need your credit card for a preorder if they aren't charging you.

AND BESIDES, WHAT I'M STILL TRYING TO SAY, IS THAT THIS IS INDEED A VERY DAFT IDEA.

1st: It's convinience. How would they tell you they need your credit card number when the game is out? If you don't check your e-mails regularly, you might not get the notice, and many other things.
2nd: Check your credit card statement. If they charged something, calll EBGames up, and complain.

*preorders*

lagamorph321 03-11-2004 05:54 AM

do it if you can

If you're in the UK, amazon UK also has preordering available.

Sam&Max4ever 03-11-2004 12:38 PM

I also pre-ordered ;) And NO they do NOT take your money unless the game is realeased.

Nice to see all those pre-orders..Keep it up, we shall never surrender :)

lagamorph321 03-11-2004 04:52 PM

I love it!

Keep up the preordering and spreading the word - some of the people watching the thread must have preordered as well ;-) Vote with your $$$$, preorder a copy and keep on flooding pr@lucasarts.com with your emails.

zongman 03-12-2004 01:37 PM

Pre-ordered on Amazon UK

Hello,

as I'm in France, I've just pre-ordered from Amazon UK.
Though, it seems the game was planned a little later in
europe: July 2004.

Best regards,
Zong.

lagamorph321 03-12-2004 04:28 PM

Worldwide support

Thanks Zong. This is just one of the ways to support the return of Sam and Max Freelance Police. Make sure to keep writing pr@lucasarts.com and take a look at the savesamandmax.com website. Interest is growing!

lagamorph321 03-12-2004 08:33 PM

Thanks for the heads up!

Jeez - 6th in germany, huh? Keep it up guys and gals. I think we can get Sam and Max back. To all you guys in the UK, get to work - 96th? :-p But seriously, this will make a difference. Thanks and spread the word - write pr@lucasarts.com, otherwise they might actually start responding to all my emails.

hee hee.

Oh yeah, check out savesamandmax.com - maybe you can coordinate with info@savesamandmax.com to put some news in german.

SyntheticGerbil 03-13-2004 06:01 AM

lagamorph321 03-13-2004 05:07 PM

EBGAMES and amazon.de are still clueless. I guess the Amazon sites don't coordinate worldwide. It would be interesting to see how many got preordered there.

Shmargin 04-22-2007 06:37 PM

RESURRECT THIS!

Biotch.

OH OH OH! I'M GONNA PRE ORDER MINE NOW TOO!!! THATLL SHOW LUCASARTS!!!!11111oneoneoneone one

itchythesamurai 04-22-2007 09:23 PM

Here's some food for thought: why don't you pre-order the new Sam & Max game that actually exists?

SyntheticGerbil 04-23-2007 03:15 AM

Hey ladies, why don't you preorder a dildo?

Ray Jones 04-23-2007 03:49 AM

Ha-haa.

Shmargin 04-23-2007 07:07 AM

Already have. But I want to pre order the other one. So I can help stick it to the man. In a non sexual way. Then maybe in a sexual way, if you know, the man has a vagina.

Legally, I could get into an adult novelty shop, but the opportunity just hasn't arisen. Gerbil, is it like everything I hope it will be??

No, at least thats what I hear.

SyntheticGerbil 04-29-2007 06:51 AM

I've been to an adult novelty shop as a joke once on Montrose and they had like 20 volumes of "Filthy ****" and a large swollen hitchhiker's thumb for jamming into unwilling vaginas.

It wasn't as filthy as I was hoping. It was like a comic book shop really, just as clammy, awkward, and boring, but with much different items.

At least that one. I'm sure there are many shops out there with wild orgies and bondage equipment that has rail guns and David Bowie knives decked on top of them. Just like the movies!

Oh yeah....there are....One I used to goto...Uh...I mean...you know....As a "joke" too....Yeah Thats it...It had an "arcade" in the back.

No really, had a sign that said "Arcade" and everything. Not an arcade in the "Street Fighter 2" and "Space Invaders" sense, but in the "little booths with a door and a TV screen and a slot for dollar bills for playing porno, complete with a tissue paper dispenser next to the bench" type of sense...You can ask why I know what the inside looked like, but you can just assume whatever the hell you damn well want.

SyntheticGerbil 05-01-2007 09:32 PM

Were they expensive?

Wow and to think the self loathing of people who would gladly sit in another persons "love juice" to get their jollies off. I'm sure the place is kept clean like the grimy paper towels that other people have "used". That reminds me of that public restroom I saw on a tour in southern Reno. The floor was stickier than the floor of a movie theater after a group of nerds saw Spider-man.

SyntheticGerbil 05-09-2007 07:49 PM

Hahahaha, I liked that Spiderman joke, I really did.
