Old Account
My old account has stopped working. Can someone please tell me why this is happening?
|
Er.... it might be helpful if you say what account. I'm guessing HalfSwedeLarz?
|
Is there an error message or better description of the problem?
What is your old user name? |
Yes that was my old account name. One day I tried to log on and it just wouldn't work.
|
I would have appreciated a much better description. It could have been anything. You're just lucky it was something obvious, otherwise I would have just waited for more details.
Try logging in. |
uh ok. Sorry if I got you aggrivated, but it still doesnt work. It says thank you for logging HalfSwedeLarz on but when the screen appears I am not logged on that name.

And how did this post appear twice? These forums confuse me. |
sometime the server hiccups and then.. you know.. "impatient" people press the reply button twice.. ;)
if that happens you can easily delete one of the posts then. btw.. maybe you should logout with you current account or clear your cookies and then retry to login as HalfSwedeLarz. (what's the other half.. chinese??) |
Clearing your cookies SHOULD solve whatever problems you have. If not, just stay on this account.
|
Um how do you clear cookies? And what exactly are they? I can't beleive im still a newb
|
Well, cookies are just txt documents that hold information about sites you've been to (ie: accounts/passwords). And, depending o nwhat browser you use, it should be like Tools < Internet tools < Clear cookies
|
Otherwise, you should find them all in you're "Temporary Internet Files" folder, but beware, you'll probably find that websites where you've chosen to log you on automatically when you visit them, um... won't, not at least until you've logged in again anyway. For example, if you ask you're computer to log you into your email account on say hotmail, automatically every time you go on IE, or whatever, so you don't have to username and passsword it all the time, you'll find that you'll have to username and password it again. No problem though, as it'll just create a new cookie for that and the problem will be solved.

I have gotten it working again. Thank you for all the help. So what account do I use now?
|
Your old one?
|
Are you answering my question or are you asking what I got working again?

That is just confusing me even more.
|
Just use your old username.
|
OK. Then how do I get rid of this one?
|
Stop posting with it.
Or maybe an admin will delete it or sometihng. |
Send an Admin (like me) a PM with a description of what's going on (now you've got me confused a bit).
Tell me which account you want deleted and which one you plan to use. I can combine the post counts of them too, when I get a free moment. Thanks! |
OK I did just what you told me to.
