Odd Editing question
 

I am not sure where would be more appropriate to post this, so here goes. I apologize ahead of time if this is the wrong place.

I'm working on the SOTE mod for Jedi Academy. There is a model that I want, but I don't have time or resources to make it. However, there is another SW game, X-Wing Alliance, that contains a model that I would like. I do not know anything about the structure of the .opt files in XwingAlliance, but I would like to know if it is possible to convert the file into either 3DS Max, or Jedi Academy formats.

Does anyone know anything about this? Help is appreciated.

First thing to do is find out who made the model and ask them permission to use it.

Well the author is Lucasarts/Totally Games. It is an in game model. What's the next step? :-)
