Worst (or least favorite) Star Wars video game

Which game, in your opinion, was worthy.... to be chucked down the trash? Or, if you really didn't "hate" any games, which was the one that you didn't care for that much?

Commander Obi-Wan 12-03-2005 12:29 AM

KotOR......never played it.

Katarn07 12-03-2005 02:17 AM

Jedi Outcast was the biggest letdown for me. I played DF, JK, and MotS for years and unlocked every secret to be found; alot of it on my own and the last of it with the help of the internet. Jedi Outcast I never have desired to replay....

Worst game you say? I actually like TPM for the opening missions. I'd actually have to go with Rogue Squadron. XWA > RS. After playing XWA first, there's no turning back.

Jeff 12-04-2005 11:07 AM

I didn't like Battlefront I. Haven't played II yet, so I don't know if it's worse than the first like some say or not.

Play it. Seriously. It's way better than any other Star Wars game, IMO.

Palpatine_dc 12-04-2005 01:54 PM

The worst Star wars game I played was Galactic Battlegrounds.
Why? Because it was just Age of Empires with Star Wars units. It had crappy graphics with bitmap units that could only go 8 directions (earlier games using bitmap engines had at least 2 that number). Gameplay was neither original nor fulfilling. Even the unit sounds were repeatative. If it had been brought out a couple of years earlier it might have been good, but halas...

Off couse there are other Star wars games from around this period, that were also bad or even worse but I didn't play them.

Oh yeah, I too didn't like Battlefront. I just played a demo, but it didn't make me wanna play more of it at all.

I was considering playing it, but I heard it wasn't so good on PC, but now I am not going to worry about it. Since I am going to buy BFME II and Empire at War.

Jeff 12-04-2005 03:27 PM

Uhh... It's better on PC. Better graphics because of higher screen resolution, and the mods that are available for it.

Well, that's what somebody told me. Well, I might consider trying the game after I play EaW and BFME II.

90SK 12-04-2005 05:13 PM

Star Wars: The Clone Wars. I mean, it wasn't so bad in the beginning, but it quickly staled on me. I was hoping for more of a generalized "clone wars" experience: you get to play the clone wars, not another ho-hum Anakin-saves-everything plot.

That aside, Star Wars for Gameboy. Not fun.

Soogz 12-06-2005 08:17 AM

Jedi Outcast or Clonewars.

Nedak 12-07-2005 01:16 AM

HA I had the Starwars gameboy (not even color) game when I was like 6 HAHAHA it sucked so badly I got poed and almost broke my gameboy because I could not beat the damn level where you got on the Falcon with Solo lol... Good times....

Kurgan 12-07-2005 07:49 AM

Jedi Power Battles was pretty craptastic on the dreamcast (despite decent graphics at the time). The PSX version was even worse. A total disaster... it failed in so many areas.

I never played Force Commander or Obi-Wan but both of those games got horrible reviews and people I talked to who actually played them complained bitterly of the utter disappointment of them.

Prime 12-07-2005 10:59 AM

Galaxies.

{HaD}DARTH MAUL 12-07-2005 03:46 PM

i think the worst star wars game i have played is rogue squadron 3D, the game had horrible graphics, the ships were near impossible to stear, and the game had many pixel problems such as the sky would look fine would minute and then it would be a hazy gray with green spots.

Katarn07 12-07-2005 04:05 PM

I kinda liked Jedi Power Battles on the PSX with a friend. I never owned it though, so I'm sure I'd learn to hate it.

Well, they must have been ignorant about it. It is really good on PC. I was glad when I found out that it was just because you didn't have it; To say that KotOR is the least favorite game, after playing it, would be complete heresy :D. It is absolutely one of the best games out there.

Pho3nix 12-08-2005 02:28 PM

Probably Force Commander, worst SW game evah.

There's actullay a game called Force Commadner. What are you....a commander that uses the force?

primalunderdog 12-09-2005 10:14 PM

Ironicly I hated darkforces!I also did not like that guy dissing Kotor before he played it.It is the best starwars game out there next to galaxies.

boinga1 12-10-2005 11:08 AM

Lol... Yes, Star Wars Galaxies, the best Star Wars game on the market!

For the record, my least fav game... hmm... perhaps TPM game, although Jedi Academy was also a letdown. I never owned Jedi Power Battles, but I loved it when I played it (impossible though it was :p ).

Darth_Terros 12-11-2005 12:33 PM

Star Wars galaxies all the way.

That game is less Star Wars than Super Bombad Racing!

http://ps2media.ign.com/media/previe...erbombad/1.jpg

Commander Obi-Wan 12-11-2005 02:37 PM

Super Bombad Racing does even look like Star Wars. Now, I can only imagine how bad Star Wars Galaxies is. :xp:

MachineCult 12-11-2005 06:01 PM

I just don't get Star Wars Galaxies at all, what do you do in it?

jedispy 01-03-2006 02:51 PM

The biggest crap SW game was Yoda Stories. I'm sorry, it's just so retarded. Why even make it?

Another one that was a huge load was SW Rebellion. Now there is a condition to it. It is a good game, but it qualifies as bad because of the following:
1. It took forever to figure out.
2. While the space battles were INCREDIBLE, there was no planetary ground campaign function. Quite sad.
3. Multiplayer was lame.

The good things about Rebellion were the galaxy overview function, the resource allocation, the missions (espionage, assassination, abduction, sabotage, etc...) and of course the space battles. The space battles were awesome.

I always wish they had made a Rebellion 2. Do the sort of thing they did with Battlefield 1 & 2. (as in, who cares that they made BF1??? F___ that!! We got BF2 now YO!!!)

If they made it not suck, I'd gladly pay money for it.

Katarn07 01-03-2006 03:44 PM

Yoda Stories dumb? At first glance it is, but it's one helluva game. It's long and nearly endless campaign was neat and the unlockables and hidden extras were worth searching for. 25 different story missions, and when replayed, the maps change as do the puzzles and what not. The end solution is always the same, yes, but the events were somewhat random. A colorful cast of characters from the movies made guest appearances and the easter eggs were just too cool. Meeting Indiana Jones as an alternate ending of one of the missions is one of the best easter eggs ever in a game. I wish I could find both that and the Indy equivilent (which I've never played so would love to get my hands on that one first).

jedispy 01-03-2006 04:21 PM

Blech. I wash my hands of Yoda Stories. In my opinion (and that's all it is, just an opinion) Yoda Stories was the worst repulsive bile that Lucasarts vomited on a plate, microwaved for 10 minutes, put in a box and call it a game. :barf:

I wish I felt more strongly about it.

Perhaps the only thing more pathetic than Yoda Stories is Empire Strikes Back for NES. It was really cool for the first bunch of levels. Then when Luke leaves Dagobah and heads for Cloud City, the game gets retarded. According to that account, here's what happens in ESB:
1. Luke and Boba Fett have a big shootout on Cloud City, and Luke beats him (forget the 1337 mandalorian armor, jetpack, and cool arsenal)
2. Fett escapes and successfully loads Han on Slave 1. He takes off.
3. Luke gets back into his X-wing and DESTROYS SLAVE 1.
4. After Luke blows up Slave 1, we see Han saying "Thanks bud, I owe you one." (?! So that's it? The mighty Boba Fett gets killed like that? And how did Han survive? Even if the carbonite could withstand the explosion of Slave 1, he'd have been hurled deeper into the Bespin, being utterly destroyed.)
5. Luke hunts down Darth Vader. They duel. Darth Vader is a cheating w#0r3 and uses a blaster AND his lightsaber.
6. Luke beats Darth Vader who falls down the Cloud City shaft (not Luke, VADER) and he mutters something like "I'll get you next time Luke!!!"

Absolutely TERRIBLE.

Perhaps instead of Rebellion 2, they can take my suggestions for Battlefront 3.
It could happen.

PoiuyWired 01-06-2006 05:30 PM

I remember playing that NES thingy... and yes after the Slave I thingy I go WTFFF??? all the way, never finished it though thank god ^^

Astrotoy7 01-06-2006 10:44 PM

Worst game ever, and I can't put enough pressure on that word, is SWGalaxies by far. Nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing including Yoda Stories, can come close, that's how bad it is. Oh it looks beautyfully, but what does that matter when the game is utter garbage contentwise and not to mention Star Wars lore-wise?!?
There's a ton of Jedi running around, and no Galactic Civil War. How can you have a game set in the GCW with tons of Jedi but no war and pass it off as being true to Star Wars?!?

And to think the game was promising and was actually fun and accurate mostly in the beginning. Talk about taking a nose-dive. :D

Astrotoy7 01-07-2006 07:59 AM

wow...Jan, you have obviously played SWG far more than any of us, if you say it sucks then it must really have taken a turn for the bad :(

and to think that theyve just released another XP, someone should tell Lucasarts SWG is OVER ! :p

Agreed 100%

I started playing the game since just after launch and first it was great then it all went down hill with towns being full of jedi waving lightsabers while stormtroopers casually stroll past hell mos eisley was under rebel control with flags and troopers all over the place but standing in front of the flags would be imperial officers!.

That game isnt starwars.

Katarn07 01-09-2006 09:56 PM

I managed to snag Indy and the Fate of Atlantis a week or so ago, and the same guy who had that happens to also have Sam and Max (full talkie!) and both desktop adventure games!

Right on!! I used to play SWG to but now I play WOW lol. It is the farthest thing away from the Star Wars universe. Everyone on the Galaxies forums hate me because I quit it lol. ( and maybe cuz I rip on it...oh well...what can you do?...)

MachineCult 01-10-2006 08:44 AM

Whats so bad about Star Wars Galaxies? I really don't get that game.

edlib 01-10-2006 09:13 AM

Clone Wars,.. and maybe Battle For Naboo. I also really wanted to like Bounty Hunter, but gave up on it after a while in sheer frustration.

Wasn't too crazy about Yoda Stories either, but I don't think it was a bad game for the intended audience.

Boba Rhett 01-10-2006 11:00 AM

Ok, everyone here who did not respond with "Obi Wan" please go rent Obi Wan. :xp:

And Yoda Stories is awesome.

The animation is not as smooth as I recall it being (it's been 5 years now) but it's still as fun as ever. Much better than the Indy version (there's no medkits in that game!)
