Happy New Year!

The New Year is sooo overrated.

Happy New Year anyway! :)

Joshi 01-01-2006 06:22 PM

Go on then, resolution time, go on, share with us, what you gonna fail to do this year? I'm gonna save money, before christmas I was completely broke, my parents gave me £100 for Christmas, I've spent £30 of it so far, so that's definately going well. I may get a job in the new year, but I aint promising nothing.

Oh, and Happy New Year!

SteveBB 01-01-2006 06:35 PM

Happy new year, I guess. Although I can't understand why we should celebrate the new YEAR on one particular day. I mean a year takes a year, right? so why celebrate it on 1 day, why not all the year round?

Gabez 01-01-2006 06:44 PM

We don't - we celebrate the NEW year, not the new YEAR. ;

SteveBB 01-01-2006 07:03 PM

Ah yes how silly of me

Kjølen 01-01-2006 08:51 PM

That's what you get for being 16.

DrMcCoy 01-02-2006 08:07 AM

Happy new YOLD 3172!

Alien426 01-02-2006 03:28 PM

i toasted to health. i.e. not slipping on the icy pavement and breaking my arm. didn't work out.

Das Mole 01-02-2006 05:36 PM

Oh, I'm sorry.

PoM 01-04-2006 04:45 PM

Heh, merry year, everyone.
Does anyone else think 2005 was really short?

Gabez 01-04-2006 05:37 PM

Yeah, I think it felt a bit shorter than usual.

edlib 01-04-2006 07:35 PM

It was actually slightly longer. By a second. A leap second was added to the end of the year.

But we're actually talking about perceptions: 2005 felt long to me. It probably did for a lot of people. All that suffering and hardship and such.

Joshi 01-04-2006 07:58 PM

Mother earth didn't have a very good year last year, what with the earthquakes and all, I'm guessing she found it a bit long.

Fealiks 01-08-2006 04:05 PM

new years resolution: avoid any crappy scheme to get more money by Boots(TM) (i.e "choose one thing for your resolution with boots for only £9.99!) anyone from UK will know what i mean.... ¬¬

Joshi 01-08-2006 04:24 PM

Is that really a resolution, or is it something you've been doing all your life?

Kjølen 01-08-2006 08:05 PM

1024x768 is my New Year's resolution.

Joshi 01-09-2006 06:11 AM

I swear you made that same joke last year.

Ray Jones 01-09-2006 07:51 AM

I swear last year you were jealous for not pulling that one, too.

DrMcCoy 01-09-2006 09:30 AM

I swear it's still bad...

Ray Jones 01-09-2006 09:37 AM

I swear, everytime I read your one of your funny posts I *must* remember the following phrase:

"the kernel.org admin team has deemed it necessary to redirect all of these offers to our faithful mail sorting program: /dev/null"

Don't know why, though.

DrMcCoy 01-09-2006 10:58 AM

. . .

Sure thing. So, my New Years Resolutions:

...nah.

It's a classic.

Ray Jones 01-10-2006 02:49 AM

Not a Sony?

PoM 01-10-2006 11:14 AM

What's the difference?

Kjølen 01-10-2006 06:02 PM

Well, "classic" is both a noun or an adjective, describing that it's aged, yet still good, and Sony is a Japanese electronics company. The difference margin is notable.

Ray Jones 01-11-2006 09:19 AM

It's spelled in a different way, too.

Isak 01-13-2006 08:12 PM

Happy new year! (Am I late?)
