Help save the internet!!

Congress is pushing a law that will abolish Net Neutrality, a concept which deams that all data must be treated equally. A multi million dollar lobby campaign is being set by big corporations such as Verizon and AT&T, to allow them to control the content we see and put on the internet. If we don't act now to stop this within a couple of years we will be paying a higher price to acess the web, and we will not be able to view half the content we can view now, and those websites that can't pay extra high fees to use the internet will have to run at a slower speed and lower priority, making it extremly hard to access. Moreover these large corporations will have the power to ban any website they see as "inappropriate" or "against common interests".

But there's hope! If all us internet surfers rally together we can stop this atrocity from happenning. Contact your local senator and congressman and let them know that you support Net Neutrality, and that you are for the Snowe-Dorgan "Internet Freedom Preservation Act" (S 2917)

While I am all against this...make sure you state this is more of "big business" than the government...the big corporations are hoarding their power again and trying to play the congress, so...I hope this law doesn't pass, I'm just reminding you that it's not just the government involved...

Honestly ... all hippiesdo is complain and smoke weed. ofcourse the government backs big companies because they fund everything unlike the self serving weed smoking hippies who just pretend to help others

Shuz 06-22-2006 04:40 AM

you sound just as narrow-minded as these "pot smoking hippies" you speak of

Samnmax221 06-22-2006 05:08 AM

Well I'm all for a free market but this is assinine, it's going to hurt business more then help it. My additude on hippies is not at all a friendly one, having been told by several that I'm whats wrong with the world.

swediot=) 07-08-2006 07:28 AM

did the hippies that accused you of destroying the world do

A. anything at all to save it in the short time following their accusations or
B. do nothing but continue to complain and make accusations
C. do nothing but smoke pot and try to back up theyre illogival philosophies and bad argument without reasonable proof of anything and everything

Man, we shouldn't let this crap stand! Before we know it, the government will be doing warrantless wiretapping!

Here is net neutrality explained in a much better way: the ninja way!

(Also, I snickered when it said "The neutrality of this article is disputed.")

Big corporations at it again *sigh*, and the govt is backing them. If this ever passes, one day, our president will be at his computer and vainly trying to access a fav forum, but due to the law he can no longer continue with his net based affair behind his wife's back.

No, that was not reffering to anyone!

No way! This means......That...............no.................. .NO!
