So this internet thing.

I've heard many great things about the Internet, thinking of getting one myself, sounds like a good deal, may even make myself one of those inter-web pages!

Okay, so, I've just started a new job and just moved into a new apartment and I want to get the internet installed. So my questions to all UK based forumites (although chime in wherever you're from just to hear about your ISP experiences), which do you think would be the best provider and why? Also who are you with and are you happy with the service?

I'm basically looking for something fairly priced (I'm thinking cheap, but I could go higher for better service or connection) which has a fairly high usage allowance (although unlimited would be preferable, I don't think 2 Gig's is enough), with a connection of anything including and above 2Mb (although 8 sounds nice, but I can live very easily with 2... maybe even 1).

Now, I'm not getting you to do all the work, I am looking myself, but with my internet access limited at the moment to at work when I should be... you know, working, I could sure use your help.

Thanking you in advanced (because I'm cockey that way), Your Friendly Neighbourhood Moderator.

;)

I've heard good things about bulldog, but also I think Sky are doing a TV/ Free broadband package. I'm with ntl: and they're pretty slow and limited, but it does the job.

Of course, the "Interet" is just a rumour, probably doesn't even exist...

Joshi 09-05-2006 08:23 AM

I wanted NTL (my parents are on it and it's unlimited usage) but they don't operate in my area. I'll check out bulldog. I have no use for Sky digital so I see no reason to go to them for broadband.

Dude get AOL it pwns all other ISPs.

^ I find my statement to be funny in more ways than one.

Joshi 09-06-2006 03:49 AM

AOL is the bane of all existance... well not true, but it's sure as hell annoying. I won't step anywhere near it.

DrMcCoy 09-06-2006 06:11 AM

Good to hear you didn't sink that low, at least...

Joshi 09-06-2006 06:19 AM

What do you mean 'at least'?

Ray Jones 09-06-2006 06:34 AM

AOL, or not, who cares? As long as you're not using their ****ing annoying "clients" everything's o-kay.

Joshi 09-06-2006 07:13 AM

Nah, I don't have anything AOL on my computer, there tends to be a stigma amongst those with an @aol.com at the end of their e-mail addresses so I steer clear.

You know quite well what I mean.

;P

Joshi 09-06-2006 07:49 AM

If I knew I wouldn't be asking now would I?

Ray Jones 09-06-2006 08:45 AM

Is aol.com your email domain?

But if you knew and wouldn't want to admit that you knew, you certainly would ask!

Ray Jones 09-06-2006 09:15 AM

"Hätte, wäre, wenn, nu hör' ma' uff zu flenn'."

*belly-punches McC-ann-oy...twice*

DrMcCoy 09-06-2006 09:18 AM

Do you mean punching my belly or punching with your belly?
Because I you meant the former, your fists'll get stuck and if you meant the latter, well, let's just say we'll see who's got more mass...

No, I'm a gMail user, never used AOL in my life.

Right, but knowing about something like that doesn't come close to the humiliation of someone revealing what it is to the world... so why don't you just do that... if you even know what it is and didn't just make it up.

Although for the record, I actually do have no idea what you're on about... unless this really is about the fact that I use Photoshop and you think the Gimp is better... which would be just a little weird.

Ray Jones 09-06-2006 09:59 AM

In both cases I'd compensate through speed, although there's no way I would ever want to have more bodily contact with you than with my trusted fists, McOink.

But if that were truely the most humiliating action for me to take, you would have never suggested it! However, since you did suggest this course of action, you just want to remove your head out the noose I've prepared (so to speak)! Ha, gotcha!

Oh, little Joshi tries to set up a distraction! Noted as futile...

The sweat-talk from last night sounded a bit differently...

Ray Jones 09-06-2006 10:19 AM

So it's not that then, okay then, in that case I have no idea.

Now since curiosity is a greater force than fear of abject humiliation (for curiosity can kill cats, and possibly other small things) I'd say I would suggest it, no matter how humiliating.

Either way, the public doesn't know so for now, my humiliation lies in limbo.

Pillow talk is done through sweat now? Learn something new every day.

Or you just want to bring me on a wrong track! Because that's what I would do if I were in a similar situation and since we two aren't that different, that must be it!

Yep, if you were there, you would know that we sweated like hell... :naughty:

Bar the obvious chav ones, that's the worst retort you could possibly use... its basically a slightly tweaked version of the following

Chav--> :moped <OY, DICKED! UR MUM!)
Some Random--> :indif: <...You suck, man)
Chav--> <Thats not what ur mum were sayin last nite)
Random--> :mad: <What?! DUDE! THAT F*CKING SUCKED!) *Belly-Punch*

Heheh... look at 'em go!

And don't you mean sweet talk? You silly man, you. You are very silly man!

Also, Joshi, McCoy was not referring to anything inparticular, he was just pointing out that you are... like... a wolly or something. BUT! You had a guilty consience, meaning you really did something or something. Are you really a ladyboy?

Joshi 09-07-2006 03:52 AM

Okay, why is everyone under the assumption I did something? McCoy said 'blah blah blah at least' and I called him on it. Have none of you realised by now that I'm dangerously paranoid?

And McCoy, if we two aren't that different you would tell me.

I'd rather you called me directly... :naughty:

"That different" doesn't imply "completely twins-like similar"...
But it does let me see through your (not that smart, I must unfortunately say) plot...

Ray Jones 09-07-2006 08:39 AM

K.I.T.T.! Get me outta here. Quick!!

As apposed to yours, which is so obviously riddled with genius.

Ray Jones 09-07-2006 09:39 AM

He-lloow??!!?

Joshi 09-07-2006 09:55 AM

What, did you have a stroke?

Ray Jones 09-07-2006 10:08 AM

K.I.T.T. is not answering. Maybe my clock has no net coverage.

Joshi 09-07-2006 11:03 AM

Perhaps he's busy.

Exactly.

Fealiks 09-07-2006 05:28 PM

I've noticed your posts are getting more and more half-arsed, McCoy... you seem to just quote posts about three times and write one word after each quote. Just a little observation :)

Joshi 09-08-2006 03:56 AM

It's because he has no argument.

Ray Jones 09-08-2006 04:18 AM

No, five little words: No sex!

Joshi 09-08-2006 05:55 AM

You mean letter's, right?

Ray Jones 09-08-2006 06:16 AM

No, I mean *words*, even sentences, if you want.

No. Sex. Har. Har. Har.

Joshi 09-08-2006 06:21 AM

Indeed :¬:

Ray Jones 09-08-2006 06:22 AM

I feel clever today.

Now you're threatening me with sex-withdrawal? Is it because I destroyed that one pillow? I've already said I'm sorry, dammit!
