Hitman Movie

so i was surfing through imdb .. and i came across this page

hitman movie

I couldnt think of anyone better to play Agent 47, though his voice seems a bit too deep.

Hopefully its not another poor game-to-movie conversion.

Lightsaberboy 09-09-2006 03:20 AM

I wanted Jason Statham to play Hitman 47 instead. Vin Diesel is way to built for the role 47 isn't supposed to be that buff, plus Jason already has the accent in him.

I would have to second that. I thought of Hitman the first time I ever saw The Transporter.

Not to offend anyone, but Vin Diesel?! How ghey....no pun intended...

I won't see this film on general principles.

Black Knight of Keno 09-09-2006 04:00 AM

Yeah, I think Vin Diesel doesn't really have that Hitman in him. He's more of a "bang-bang, slaughter-slaughter, mission accomplished" kind of person while they should get a "sneak-sneak, strangle-strangle, silenced bang, mission accomplished" kind of a person.
And I really don't know how you can get a plot for a movie from Hitman. It might just be hard enought that it'll make the movie crash and burn

Lightsaberboy 09-09-2006 04:05 AM

I just hope they focus on the stealth aspect of the Hitman games instead of making it an all out shooting explosions and whatnot movie.

Not a chance, you just know this film will just be another xXx.

Right you are.

Lantzen 09-09-2006 08:09 AM

Hate when they make movies out of games, 90% of them are so bad. They just slaugther the hole story of the game, then make some figthing scenes, and people will see it just because it have the game name. And it will be even worse with Vin Disel in it, not that i think he is bad, but all his movies are focused on figthing, not sneaking

Black Knight of Keno 09-09-2006 08:16 AM

There was some sneaking in Chronicles of Riddick and Pitch Black... >_>

ET Warrior 09-09-2006 12:15 PM

Vin Diesel is a TERRIBLE actor to play in the role of Agent 47. As mentioned earlier, Jason Statham is beyond the perfect actor for the role. He has the look, the moves, the sound, and is overall much more awesome.

Booooo Vin Diesel.

I'd be willing to bet it will be.

HOORAY BEER!

:p

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought of Jason when I first saw Agent 47.

Ratmjedi 09-09-2006 04:35 PM

I don't know about you guys but I think that Jason Isaacs would be just as good as Jason Stathom.

That's probably the problem. People would just think that Jason Statham is playing almost exactly the same role.

Vin Diesel is not on my list of favorite actors by any means, but his prestige as an action movie star will surely draw in alot of attention, which is probably why he was picked.

He got the part becuse he is also the executive producer.

The Seeker 09-10-2006 11:06 PM

Vin Diesel sucks just as an actor. I'm sure he's a good person, but well, maybe he missed his calling as a wal-mart manager because acting just doesn't suit him. Seeing him cast for Hitman brings on the same reaction as when I saw that The Rock was cast in Doom: "Aw, Crap!"

Pass.

toms 09-11-2006 04:54 PM

I just watched Crank.. that is a cool hitman film. Jason Statham kicks butt as usual.. but in a much more fun way than The Transporter.

But it makes me think.. the plot for Hitman is so SPECTACULARLY GENERIC that i don't see the point in liscencing the game. They could just make any old movie about a hitman.. call it "hitman" and have a generic action movie.

I never understand why they insiste on taking generic games and making them into genre movies.. when they could just make the damn movie and forget the game.. and avoid pissing off a lot of game fans in the process.

abespam 12-06-2006 02:11 AM

serious bumpage...

but i saw this over on joystiq.com Link

That is all.

Go back to your lives and wii

Lightsaberboy 12-06-2006 06:35 AM

Hmm. His face looks more like a Max Payne than an Agent 47 imo.Timothy Olyander's had a wide range of acting roles though so that's good. I'll reserve judgement until I see the movie.

jon_hill987 12-06-2006 08:10 AM

Well that is good news, might be worth seeing now.

When will Hollywood learn not to make movies based on video games? And these guys are mystified as to why their profits are dropping like a brick... :bored:

MTV2 12-06-2006 10:22 AM

VIN DIESEL!!!?!?!?!!?!? I was thinking more of the Transporter guy, guy from Crank. Jason...?

Vin Diesel has been replaced by Deadwood's Timothy Olyphant
Well at least theres now hope. Not much, but hope nonetheless.

igyman 12-07-2006 03:45 PM

There was already a thread on this and my opinion from that thread still stands: Vin Diesel as Hitman? No. Please, for the love of... anything, no. David Bateson (the voice actor from the game, he looks almost completely like 47), or, as others suggest, Jason Statham would be much better.

Lightsaberboy 06-26-2007 04:54 PM

teaser is out.

not much I can say since it doesn't show much, but Olyphant looks weird with a bald head to me.

Hmm, I didn't think Agent 47 was some kind of Messiah. I thought he was a hitman, and killed for money. :/

MrWally 06-26-2007 07:03 PM

This is making me wanna try the games again :D

I only played the first one, and I got pretty far into it, but for some reason or another I never finished and just kinda dropped the series. But I remember really enjoying it.

"To bring us peace"?. I think the people working on the film might be missing the point of the games.

Lightsaberboy 06-27-2007 06:17 PM

i think it was just supposed to show the irony of the statement, cause the statement says all this stuff about messiah and peace, yet shows clips of him going around shooting people and killing them. who knows tho.

Yeah man I really cant see anyone else playing 47 other than Statham.... Vin Diesel WTF? Hes designed to kill in outer space not in Europe.

kinda of disappointing to me but ill still check out the trailer regardless. Probably wait for this one until DVD

Kain 06-29-2007 12:46 PM

Hey, wanna know who'd be the perfect actor for 47? The guy that voices him in the games, who coincidentaly is who the person the character model of 47 is made from. Even better, the guy isn't just some voice actor - he apparently has some acting experience. Yay Hollywood! You make me sick.

MrWally 06-30-2007 04:48 PM

"Some acting experience"

Just because he looks and sounds the part doesn't mean he can act it out accordingly...

CapNColostomy 06-30-2007 05:21 PM

Jason Statham should have his genitals removed by way of shark for making that awful piece of **** Crank movie. That is all.

...riiiiiiiiiight. Its not like he hasn't been doing the part for...well, I don't have my Hitman discs handy to check the date on the first one, but its been a hell of a lot longer than anyone else who Hollywood is pining over.

And besides, its not like 47 is this insanely animated character. You could get a guy whose been beaten over the head with a bag of hot nickles to play him.

Mike Windu 07-03-2007 11:19 AM

Timothy Olyphant is a decent choice... he did well in Live Free or Die Hard.

Kain 07-03-2007 12:49 PM

Its not like its gonna matter anyways. Can you say BloodRayne?

I'll probably end up seeing then, since I'm a big fan of the games, but I still don't understand why they make it sound like he works for the church.
