VGL Grim Fandango
In case there are people who don't read the Double Fine news regularly or browse YouTube for Grim Fandango, check this out. It's a video of a piece of GF music being played in the video games live concert. It's lovely!

was the violinist wearing a skull mask?

Thrik 10-08-2006 08:53 PM

Don't think so. It looks like his normal face, even if it is a bit blurry.

Just in case you weren't aware, that's Peter McConnell on the violin, composer of the Grim Fandango soundtrack.

Thats Swanky Maximino, I'm sure of it

I love that song :)

Yeah, definetily Swanky Maximino, for which the piano sheet music is available here and bass tabs are available here :)

Nick Virago 10-10-2006 02:14 PM

Could you add more piano sheets to that page? I couldn't find any other songs

As far as I know no one else has created any piano sheet music apart from the three already on that page. I had a go at creating some sheets myself using the midis but it was too time consuming. Feel free to create some yourself though :D

I think I've just worked out the first part of what will be the guitar tab for Swanky Maximino, playing it from memory of course

neon_git 10-15-2006 05:54 PM

That video was so awesome. I didn't think they'd ever play this music live.
It sounds good on the violin!

Love for GF swells inside of me everytime I see this.

I actually prefer the live version to the game version as this just seems to be that much more swanky.

Do you know if they played any other songs?
