Best Mods for KOTOR

Well, I'm going to start a new Kotor game (this will be my 3rd Play through, done it once light and once dark(with the Holowan Plug-in) and was wondering what MODS would you recomend? Is there a USM for KOTOR?

Allronix 12-02-2006 01:11 PM

My game is modded from here to Malachor 5, and this is by no means and inclusive list.

RedHawke's item packs - insanely powerful items, but definitely fun. They way they're integrated into the Endar Spire makes it aqctually fit with the story.

Red Hawke's Ord Mantell - Two sidequests and some brutal fights for your higher-level/modded out characters. The reskinning and fitting-together of multiple locations is also a very tough task.

Manaan door relief and Manaan Fish fest - I listed them as a set since they work in dandem to relive the greatest annoyances of Manaan, namely the insanely slow pace of the underwater sequence and the constantly scolding doors at the docking bay.

MECK's Jabba's Palace - The anachronistic dialogue is my only complaint here. Otherwise, it's a nifty little sidequest with an inventive use of reskins.

Totenkopf 12-03-2006 05:53 PM

Yeah, I agree that RH's stuff is chock full of goodies. I also use the stormtrooper mod for aethetic reasons (never liked original sith outfit). Ditto on manaan choices. Maybe use KSE to change around appearances of PC and NPCs. Aslo the black HK 47 skin. Shem's character reskin pack and Kill Yuak Laka (he's annoying). There are others, but I'll stop here, especially since I don't know what you've used before already anyway.

Get the Bastila on Korriban mod as this unlocks a bunch of dialogue (actual dialogue, not modded stuff) like this scene when Yuthura mentions the ruins. Carth and Jolee play along, and Bastila, well, tries to.

Bastila: That's...
Revan: Quiet!

Arátoeldar 12-20-2006 10:06 PM

Some of these are mods combined other mods

1) Ajunta Pall Lightsaber
2) Alternate DS Dialogue
3) Bastila on Korriban
4) Bastila Robe Replacement
5) Canderous A Dark Jedi
6) Carth Jedi

30) Zaalbar Reskin (Updated)

Eiganjo 12-21-2006 01:48 AM

Ok, here are the mods I usually use:

- A couple of Bastila robe mods ( Svösh, Woogiee)
- Bastila Makeovers
- Bastila on Korriban
- Carth clothes
- Clonetrooper replacement
- Deadeye on Manaan
- Dialogue Pack by Allronix
- EZ swoop
- Manaan door relief
- Mission clothes
- Holowan plugin
- Helena clothes ( Bastila's Mother)
- HK reskin (the one that makes him look all rusty and used up)
- Jaguar Swoop retexture
- Juhani Robes
- Jolee Robes
- Opertion kill bastila (even though I never got it to work, but thats just me. I realy like the idea though.)
- Master heal for K1
- Make Mission a Jedi
- Reverse Gender
- Silver crystal
- Sith eye replacement
- Xia Terashai items
- Kill YukaLaka
- Recruit Yuthura
- Zaalbar reskin

I think some of the mods are in the holowan plugin, but I don't really know which ones so yeah. These are basicly just the mods I managed to collect over the years.

- plus a bunch off reskins I made myself off Mission, yuthura, Juhani, Bastila, all the animals, all the other npcs, all the robes & amors,EbonHawk,... ( maybe I should release that someday. it took me forever to do that and it looks really good)( On the other hand, maybe I won't because I would have to ask for permission of so many people because I made a reskin of everything, even the mods I use, so that it all fits together, like a reskin of the mission robes so that they fit with a reskinned head, etc...)

Redhawke has some very good mods including Ord Mandell. I also like the Yavin 4 planet mod although it is in Polish. There is another one for Tatooine, a Jawa shop with some nice crystals and side quests as well.

No one here knows, as we the staff here have no contact with the operator of that site. Considering the on again off again events of the recent past concerning PCGM I would call it dead.

Which means those who posted mods there need to move them to another hosting site. Something I have already done but it isn't something that everyone has done (they should have by now, at least those still around).

Mindtwistah 06-10-2007 01:21 PM

I'll sort them. The one I like the most is the first one. And so on.

1.Dialog pack by Allronix

2.Ord Mandell

3.Force lightning anyone

4.Recruit Mindtwister (Although it is not completed yet, I like the beta)

5.Tomb of Exar Kun

6.Mottas secret lovestory

7.Kill Gorton

8.Manaan door relief

Gargoyle King 06-10-2007 06:06 PM

When they're released i think the best ones for TSL are gonna be:

(1). TSLRP.
(2). Rhen Var.

My alltime favs for K1 (in rank order) are:

(1). Slaughter The Council.
(2). Manaan Fish Fest.
(3). Ord Mandell.
(4). Korriban Crystal Caves.
(5). Recruit RedHawke.
(6). Kill Yuka Laka.
(7). Shores of Death.
(9). Sith Planet of Taris.
(10). Super Enhanced Mod for Kotor & TSL.

Lucky you had your own site RH, would have been a shame to lose some of your mods (especially your recruit mod and Ord Mandell mod) ;)

It's good yes but will never be in the same vain as pcgamemods. Now that's gone however, lucasfiles & filefront have become the main upload solution for mods these days.

Mindtwistah 06-13-2007 02:39 PM

Lucasfiles is kinda empty. 30 mods or so. Filefront has around 300 mods.

pcgamemods had an INSANE amount of mods posted and was certainly a comprehensive source of extras. Too bad it was sooo eratic in its availability.

We have way more than that. I've review 378 mods at FileFront. Actually we currently have 701 mods.

Reclaimer 07-13-2007 02:44 AM

Installing mods for KOTOR is easy compared to some games. Most of them can be just extracted into your Overwrite folder, which should be default as C:\Program Files\LucasArts\SWKotOR\Override. If it's any more complicated than that it should be detailed in the Readme file that you find when you unpack the files.

If you can't find the override folder... it's probably because you don't have one. That's usually what happens when you first install TSL...
So, to fix that... make a new folder and name it "Override" (without quotations of course). Then drop mods in the sucker and enjoy.:D
