[K1] Bastila Unchained

This mod has been in the works for a looooooong time...

Based upon a heavily modified Bastila clothing model. Comes with 33 skins. (And eats yet another of Bastila's armor slots...) Why should a Jedi be wearing grunt armor anyway? (JMO)

Download from my FileFront page.

Download from my web site.

Wow do you have plans of releasing these for TSL?

Hadn't really considered it. I suppose it would have to be for the pc in TSL, though. I guess if I supplied a TSL version of the model and a patch for the baseitems.2da and uti files, the user could implement it themselves in the appearance.2da file. I'll think about it.

Arátoeldar 01-02-2007 10:05 PM

 Another KK mod that will become part of my permanent override folder.

tbl 01-03-2007 01:49 AM

Do you need to start a new game?
Also do you need to do anything else other than run the patcher?
Thanks

JediAthos 01-03-2007 07:23 AM

A question: When changing the appearance.2da file so that the PC can use the skins, which lines apply to the various PC's?

stoffe 01-03-2007 09:08 AM

Nice mod judging by the screenshots and description. When I blow the dust of KotOR for another playthrough I'll be sure to install it and try it out. :)

Check the "label" column, the lines with a label that looks something like...

P_FEM_C_LRG_01

...are the ones used for player appearances. Where:

P = Player model
_
FEM/MAL = Female/Male
_
C/A/B/H = Caucasian(White), Asian, Black, Hispanic
_
SML/MED/LRG = KotOR: Scoundrel/Scout/Soldier, TSL: Consular/Sentinel/Guardian
_
# = Incrementing numeric identifier

I don't have a list of what number corresponds to exactly what head of that racial type, but since there aren't very many options of each type it shouldn't be that hard to figure out.

You can also open the PC.UTC file in one of your savegames with a GFF editor and check the Appearance_Type field to see what exact line number in appearance.2da is used for your character.

thanks!!

Just run the pathcher. And you don't have to start a new game if you know how to use the save game editor. Otherwise you'll have to start a new game.

Quick note there is no Hispanic head choices in K1, so if you don't see any don't be surprised.

In K1 there is about 5 or 6 head choices for each race above.

In K2 these numbers are about the same with the exception of the Hispanic heads which only have 2 choices either for male or female.

lord ignarn 01-06-2007 10:53 AM

Found them in the install log file. bas_unchained_XX (51-83)

rearviewmirror 01-09-2008 07:48 PM

Since I didn't actually put them in the game you'll have to use the cheat console or tk102's save game editor to get them in your inventory. Console cheats would be:

giveitem bas_unchained_51
giveitem bas_unchained_52
giveitem bas_unchained_53
etc, all the way to
giveitem bas_unchained_83

centerflag982 01-20-2008 04:14 PM

oh okay thanks!

centerflag982 01-20-2008 04:18 PM

and in relation to some of the earlier posts, if you edit the "appearance.2da" file can they effectively be used for any character?

im kinda new to this...

Ermm...yes. But if you put Carth in these then just don't tell me about it ok? :)

centerflag982 01-21-2008 11:53 AM

nonononono! ick. i was thinking more along the lines of mission and PC... what program do you use to edit it?

Kristy Kistic 01-21-2008 05:04 PM

@centerflag982

Kotor Tool's built-in 2da editor will work just fine. Exact instructions can be found in the read me.rtf in the archive.

centerflag982 01-22-2008 06:45 PM

alright, im gonna try it... hopefully ill be able to manage it

Edit: thanks for the help!

Edit 2: whoa... this is gonna take a bit of work to figure out...

Edit3: btw where can i get the save game editor?

Need help with transparency!

Hi.

I downloaded Bastila Unchained and installed properly.

I wanted to use the suits on my playing character, so I followed the instructions in the readme. The clothes appear on my char, but... I can see through my char! I can see the walls, the objects, everything, right thorough my character... The clothes made my char transparent...

Is there a fix to this?

.:Lord Revan:. 03-15-2011 04:11 PM

Two thumbs up.

In your character's line in the appearance.2da.. you'll need to change the "envmap" column value to "CM_Baremetal" (or whatever shader is used.. possibly CM_Manuun?). May need to check the readme to see which shader was used.

Does anyone know where this or Kristy's other KOTOR mods can be downloaded as her site and gamefront/filefront are dead? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply but any mod that ultimately links back to filefront gives me a 403 or 404 (just tried it again). It's been this way for awhile which is what led me to ask.

Or you could also try Izarc. Trench tried it and liked it IIRC.
