A few unanswered question! *

*SPOILER WARNING!!!*

I thought that we could discuss a few problems that need to be solved about the Monkey Island Games.

First of all: The story about Captain Marley!

In games 2 and 3, they say that he was racing his boat on the coast of America, after being pushed in a freakish whirlpool by LeChuck.
But according to number 4, Herman Toothrot (Marley) says that Ozzie Mandrel was the one that puched his boat in the whirlpool.

So... what the heck?

(There will be other questions later)

Phantom Knight 02-10-2007 06:30 PM

Uh, hello?

Samnmax221 02-10-2007 06:31 PM

so i herd u liek mudkips, and lack patience.

Kjølen 02-10-2007 08:39 PM

There is probably a reason why you weren't answered right away, and double-posting is highly frowned upon. Also, we have a special forum for Monkey Island discussion.

And for the record, it was to be assumed that LeChuck and Ozzy were working together even as far back as that, so it really doesn't matter who pushed who. Not to mention the fact that LucasArts doesn't seem to give a crap about the maintaining a canon storyline, and nor do we.

Phantom Knight 02-11-2007 05:33 AM

Yeah, I know! But I thought we could discuss hypothetical and probable answers to these sorts of questions. You know, sort of like chit chat! I mean its not like we are going to try and force Lucas Arts to maintain the story line.

itchythesamurai 02-11-2007 06:53 PM

I'm perfectly fine with Kjølen's response.

Thrik 02-11-2007 07:31 PM

You're unlikely to get much of a response as issues such as the Herman continuity error have been discussed a gazillion times in this forum. If you do a search through past threads you're sure to find at least a few large ones based on it.

Monkey Island discussion is awesome and all, but go for something that's a bit less obvious. :D

Like the possibility of Guybrush being a homosexual?

Thrik 02-11-2007 07:47 PM

Or Jojo the Monkey being LeChuck's father. :¬: :¬: :¬:

And Elaine the mother. :¬: :¬: :¬: :¬: :¬: :¬: :¬:

Phantom Knight 02-12-2007 04:44 AM

Okay, I get the point!

Lets just drop the topic!

Kjølen 02-12-2007 10:15 PM

Yeah, now we're horny for discussion. Break out the vaseline, this is going to be one helluva ride.

Vikinor 02-13-2007 12:06 AM

You don't need vaseline.

Lube.

Ray Jones 02-13-2007 03:37 AM

No pain no brain.

Phantom Knight 02-13-2007 04:49 AM

Um... oookay!

Here's a question that is going to drive you crazy... no wait! Insane!

According to M2 and 3, they say that H.T was racing his boat off the coast of America. Later on, in M4, they say that he was racing off the coast of Australia!
So, what the hell?

Ray Jones 02-13-2007 05:51 AM

Gee.. now he's doing it again. This has been discussed a gazibillion times already. Did nobody tell you? Just let it go, m'kay?

itchythesamurai 02-13-2007 07:41 AM

I'm willing to accept a healthy blend of senility and voodoo as the answer.

Samnmax221 02-13-2007 02:44 PM

Does Guybrush prefer Sardines or Buttsehks?

Ray Jones 02-13-2007 03:44 PM

Only if it's dramatic.

Ray Jones 02-13-2007 03:45 PM

TUM! TUUMMM!! TUUUUMMM!!!!

Fealiks 02-13-2007 05:44 PM

Presumably it was in Australia, as HT himself said that. Then again, it could have been America. Of course, let's not rule out the possibility of it being Australia, but it COULD have been America. On the other hand, Australia is also where is could have been. Not ruling out the possibility that it was America, it probably was Australia. From another point of view, though, we see that it was clearly not Australia, it was America. Abandoning that point of view for a moment, though, let's say, for the sake of argument that it WAS Australia. Even now, it seems more likely that it was America. Or Australia, let's not foget that fine candidate.

I think that about concludes your question.

Vikinor 02-14-2007 01:49 AM

Or he could have raced his boat from the coast of America to the coast of Australia.

Phantom Knight 02-14-2007 04:00 AM

A good and reasonable answer.

And by the way...

At first earlier on, I thought that you guys wanted me to "stay on topic".
It appears I have been proven wrong.

WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT FROM ME, GOOD PEOPLE? ME GOING INSANE!!!

Ray Jones 02-14-2007 06:41 AM

Of course you must stay on topic.

Phantom Knight 02-15-2007 12:54 AM

Okay fine! We can talk about something else other than this stupid topic!

Like... who the hell invented that stump joke? Or what the voodoo laddy's REAL name is. Or perhaps contemplate the meaning of life!

Ray Jones 02-15-2007 03:17 AM

Stump is a well known charcater of the famous tv shwo The Angry Beavers. He invented the stump joke, together with his almost brotehr Tim Schäfer, during a hard croe acid night, when they discovered on of those stumps in the bathorom where once the toilet was.

Phantom Knight 02-16-2007 08:46 AM

Umm... thats not exactly what I meant. You see on the sega version of Monkey Island, they made this stupid joke based around that stump in the forrest.

And by the way, Angry Beavers RULE!!!!!!

Ray Jones 02-16-2007 09:43 AM

Oh, yes, of course it's what you meant. Tim and Stump discovered a stump with astounding rendered graphics and a plate with errm.. oven rosemary-potatoes and filet of a chicken wrapped in bacon and filled with ricotta, garlic, parmesan and parsley (put it in the oven for circa 40 minutes) plus, and I find that interesting, disk 22 inside.

Phantom Knight 02-17-2007 04:14 AM

Err... yeah! It figures!

Joshi 02-19-2007 04:11 AM

Don't mind ray, he tends to answer simple questions with stupid answers for attention.

As for your questions... yeah I don't have an answer... but it turns out every else does.

Samnmax221 02-19-2007 04:48 AM

awwww...
Somebody deleted my Stool chart, it was important, honest.

Joshi 02-19-2007 06:11 AM

Wrong Thread :¬:

Samnmax221 02-19-2007 03:37 PM

Oh, I must be slowly turning into Ray, must put reefer down.

Joshi 02-20-2007 03:51 AM

Yeah and you should probably quit the drugs too.

Samnmax221 02-20-2007 03:40 PM

Joshi where have you your avatar from!!!

Ray Jones 02-21-2007 02:26 AM

Yes, that's right, I am a naughty attention bitch. But I live the life that Joshi always wanted, but never had or will have.

Samnmax221 02-21-2007 02:45 AM

Why does Joshi want your life Ray? Are blow jobs the major incentive?

Joshi 02-21-2007 03:59 AM

Joshi doesn't want Ray's life, Joshi wants Joshi's life and with just 3 easy payments, Joshi will get it.

Ray Jones 02-21-2007 04:10 AM

I'm a tumor I'm a tumor, I'm a tumor I'm a tumor I'm a Tumor.

Phantom Knight 02-21-2007 04:23 AM

Yeah, I totaly agree! With everything what "good-old" Ray said!
