The Journeyman Project series was excellent, one of my favorites. I though Ripley's Believe it or not: The Riddle of Master Lu was pretty decent too. And the Zork series as well. Hmm, can't think of any more right off the top of my head, I'll look through my games sometime and see what I forgot.

I thought Riddle of Master Lu was really pretty good, though not everyone thinks so. It had a pretty good plot, quite a bit of humor and some interesting places to visit. The puzzles were pretty good as well, they all fit and none seemed to be just a distraction to slow you down. I'd have it on my (not-so) short list of favorite adventure games. Not sure how easy it would be to find though.

Full throttle you fools, bow down and pay homage you cretins, I know full throttle is the best and should be sequeled, basically its what my ol lady says, I had an opinion once but she took it away, said i didnt know how to have one yet, but yeah full throttle rock with music and graphics, plus it was a little less cutesy and the store drew me in. of course i love tricked out bikes with fin pipes. honestly i think that was the one game that has stood out in my mind for lucasarts. since dos games

tlj is very good, i appreciate the fact that there is an adv game out there that is not afraid to use profanity to epmhasize the life of a college aged girl who is not living in the best conditions, this game is my fav of that category just ahead of gabrial knight 3.

I agree - The Longest Journey. The graphics were gorgeous and the story was immersive.

My only complaint was you sometimes had to play through some really lengthy conversations before the game could be saved. You couldn't exit the conversation and come back to it later.

Other than that, it was just plain wonderful.

Rufio 11-16-2000 11:02 PM

the dialogue in TLJ was extremely lengthy! but i really enjoyed it and it just made the story that much better

Dec Ryan 11-17-2000 05:44 AM

Ragnar Tornquist said that he made TLJ more like a combination of a book and a game, that's why the dialogue are long.

And I personally think that the long dialogue really needed since it's the first game and to build a "strong" story.

My only complaint is I really need the sequel http://www.escapemi.com/forums/biggrin.gif

What's so great about Loom? I played it and it was boring. Did I miss something?
http://www.escapemi.com/forums/confused.gif

Morello 11-20-2000 02:35 AM

I thought Loom was a little... I dunno the word. Not illogical, but close.

Well I started off with Maniac Mansion and Zak McKracken. I love both of those games.

I love the old Sierra 'Quest' games, too. Under A Killing Moon was fun, Beneath A Steel Sky was pretty cool, as was Rex Nebular and the Cosmic Gender Bender. In fact Rex Nebular was awesome! http://www.escapemi.com/forums/smile.gif

Bring back the hey-day of Adventure games I say!

Of course it's small, it just opened 3 days ago http://www.escapemi.com/forums/tongue.gif And I'm trying my best to get more registered member. Any suggestions?

I know about the official forum, I've been a member there, you can see my username also over there, thanks anyway though. But the reason I've made mine is because it seems too "messy" there and we couldn't talk anything other than TLJ. But in my forum as long as you're a TLJ fan or at least you have played and like it, you're welcome to talk about everything.

So have you finished playing EFMI? I'm currently still in Lucre Island.

Well, I liked a wide variety of Adventure games such as Myst, and Shivers had it's moments. I also (although some may disagree) liked the Virgin game Toonstruck. The only problem with that game is that is was such a horrible failure that it made the gaming section of Virgin go out of buisiness. The Sierra quest games were very good, and I was young when I played it, but I quite enjoyed Phantasmagoria. But with all that said, MI will always remain my favourite adv. game series.

dvdwood 11-20-2000 04:57 PM

I also liked the Leisure Suit Larry Games. It has good humor and a excellent gameplay.

toonstruck was great, christopher loyd and a bunch of sarcastic animated characters all rolled into one nice package.

i also really enjoyed the broken sword series (have i said that already?) and im glad that there is a broken sword 3 being planned.

finally one of my greats is the adventures of willy bemish, although it was not given verymuch praise i really enjoyed that little "troublemaker"

If you like cartoon adventures or the goblin games from sierra(coktel) try out UFOS. Its great!

Anybody remember Wierd Dreams? That was a f***ed up game.

You can't beat the lucas arts bunch. I have played a few pretty good others like.....no wait, there are no good others. Except for the KQ series maybe. And HOF. Or Normaility was very original (FPP).

maxiwoo 11-23-2000 04:25 PM

I love Grim Fandango, Full Throttle, Maniac Mansion, DOTT, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, the kyrandia series, Simon the sorceror 1 & 2, Discworld 1,2 and Noir, loom, the kings quest series (especially kq5). I think that the kq series was much better than space quest.

But, my ultimate favourite adv game will always be CMI.

Pauly Shaw 11-26-2000 05:22 AM

Day of the tentacle and Sam & Max kicked some serious buttcheeks and gabriel knight series was good too.

Raz0r 11-26-2000 07:55 AM

well.. I've been playing adv games since police quest 1 (in pursuit of the death angel) if I'm not mistaken... and fell in love with every sierra's quest games...
Codename Iceman is cool... but got stuck in the submarine battle... it's just awful hard.
I also lost my interest in the police quest series since the main character changed, (no more Sonny Bond) then colonel bequest and other laura bow series... Gabriel knight is great too....I even played Freddy Pharkas, King Arthur, etc, never missed them.
then again LucasArts' games never skipped my attention since Maniac Mansion, Indiana Jones series, and Zak Mc Kraken..., Full Throttle, The Dig, Loom... they're just outstanding. Now I tried to wrap up Escape from Monkey Island (still in Jambalaya Island wondering how the hell could I lift the heavy boulder). I heard a rumour that Sierra didn't produce any more adventure games ?... is it true ?, how sad.....

Haggis McMutton 11-26-2000 09:00 AM

Hmm... let's see. Aside from all LucasArts adventures since Loom, I enjoyed -

Beneath a Steel Sky
Discworld
Discworld II
Discworld Noir
Simon the Sorcerer
Simon the Sorcerer II

I only like the adventures which I can have a laugh at, even whilst still aimlessly wandering around looking for that missing piece of the puzzle.

A pirate I was meant to be,

Pomy 12-05-2000 08:55 AM

Lemme tell ya wot!

The best games - I think - R:

THE DAY OF THE TENTACLE,
GRIM FANDANGO,
FULL THROTTLE,
SAM AND MAX HIT THE ROAD,
MONKEY ISLAND 1-2-3-4,
MANIAC MANSION,
DIG,
ZAK MCKRACKEN AND THE ALIEN MIND BENDERS,
LOOM,
INDIANA JONES 3-4

So as it is showing I like every games that've been released by Lucas Arts.
They're the best around the whole world.
I din't put 'em in order coz I cannot.
I played them o'er, I love 'em, I got'em!

Pomy 12-05-2000 09:01 AM

Well, you're right!
Beside the LA games they're good.
But about DiscWorld:

I Hate it! Don'tcha think that that's been fu'ked up with the puzzles? I mean I played it of course - both of 'm - but I didn't like it. It was overkill. The bottles in the bar and the secret p***age - 2nd part - ...
Disgustin'.
Well, Simon... yea... kinda cool.
But it's a copycat of Monkey Island 1!
I hated it because of that.
Its second was better but the 2nd's puzzles were a lot easier.
Mail me yar oppinion 'fya wanna:
