Pixels: Serious Business (Major WTF)

I love it when non-technical people try to talk about games like they've played them for decades. They look so cute.

El Sitherino 12-10-2007 12:25 PM

I don't own the game, but I think I'll get in on this. For mental distress.

I bang my head on my keyboard all the time...

You know, just the other day I was thinking that my life would be infinitely better if only Halo 3 would render at a higher resolution. The trauma of being lied to has really affected me for the worse.

Hermie 12-10-2007 02:07 PM

They should ship out additional, complimentary pixels to all homes that have been struck by this tragedy.

The 80 pixels would also come with a handkerchief and a sippy cup, because they are clearly all babies of the crying kind.

Also IIRC most 360 games aren't actually 1080p, they're 720p unscaled to 1080p.

"you may be entitled to recover money." Why? Even if they advertised the game at the resolution its actually at it would still cost $60.

But yeah I agree with Hermie.

640p has 28% less pixels and 28% of $60 is almost $17. Do you know what you could do with $17 after legal fees Moel?

Using this logic. They should ask every single person who buys the game one question: "Do you use SDTV or HDTV?" And then adjust the price by pixels.

Most likely the x360's gpu cannot handle the engine rendering at 1280x720 smoothly in all places, so they upscale it. I don't own it, and it doesn't bother me, but I would prefer truth in advertising, so I'm for making MS eat this.

TiE23 12-10-2007 11:28 PM

I play this game in 720p and it looks fine. The word is that it's really hard to see the difference between 720p, 1080i, and 1080p.
